Al Qaeda linked to attack on U.S. Saudi outpost
Saudi officials are blaming a group of al Qaeda militants for an attack on the U.S. consulate in the city of Jeddah that left at least eight people dead.

That total includes five members of the consulate's local staff, and three of the five attackers.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Arabia Press Agency on Monday, the Saudi Interior Ministry said the other two attackers had been injured and arrested in a gun battle following the attack.

Yahya Hamidaddin, an eyewitness to the battle between the militants and U.S. marine embassy guards, said: "There's so much security around the compound. How could anyone do this, to be able to pull it off?"

1. We "knew" they were al Qaeda before it was over
According to a poster in LBN early this morning, CNN was quoting "unnamed government officials" as blaming al Qaeda. I'll bet al Zarqawi was involved too, if he wasn't busy torturing puppies or whatnot.

2. I wonder why Al Qaeda don't blow up Saudi pipelines?
Seems they could really drive home the message if they did that....

8. This must have been what George Tenet was refering to about
terrorists using the internet. Some AQ op is sitting at his PC right now slapping his head and saying "Praise be Allah, why didn't I think of that!"

I guess I just don't get those Al Qaeda guys. You'd think they'd be all for helping their brothers and sisters in Iraq overthrow the American imperialists....and working to do the same against the House of Saud. Instead they choke out the Iraqi oil revenue and SA just keeps on pumping....at a higher price.

7. News Alert! al Qaeda to blame for extra pounds gained in winter!
Okay, that's too sarcastic for some people.

I take them seriously, but the problem is, they and bush are in a symbiotic relationship. Remove the bush family from national politics and terminate their sphere of influence, and then watch al Qaeda shrink.
