U.S. House Passes Bill to Reorganize Intelligence Agencies
Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. House of Representatives approved legislation reorganizing the nation's intelligence agencies and creating the job of national intelligence director to oversee efforts to thwart terrorist attacks.

The House approved the measure 336-75. The Senate is expected to vote tomorrow, allowing President George W. Bush to sign into law most recommendations by a commission that investigated the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that killed 2,973 people in Washington, New York and Pennsylvania.

``Sept. 11 was a wake-up call from hell that told us the terrorist threat was real,'' Representative Christopher Shays, Democrat of Connecticut, said on the House floor before the vote. ``We're taking the most critical step by reorganizing our intelligence community.''

illusion to show the country that they (Congress) is doing something positive. Bet most of money will be spend rearranging the furniture in the new offices!! Cynic I am!!
