Dec. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Time Warner Inc.'s America Online division, the biggest U.S. Internet service, said it cut 750 jobs, or 4 percent of its workforce, to reduce expenses.

Half of the job cuts are in Dulles, Virginia, where America Online is based, spokesman Jim Whitney said today. The rest are in California and Ohio. America Online has about 20,000 employees.

The division is reducing its workforce ``across the board,'' including in the software development and marketing departments, Whitney said.

2. My standard line
My sympathy goes out to the Kerry voters among them, but the Bush voters are getting what they deserve. Maybe they can ask their local Republican Party for help.

3. Hmm, taking a $50 million hit to "realign resources". That could cover
a lot of moving expenses very, very far away...overseas even. I wonder....

4. This about the third cut in force over the past three years.
If they hadn't tried to be so RW and so an arm of the conservative Bush ass kissers maybe they would be doing better but their competitors are eating their lunch and I am glad. I was an early AOLer. Everytime I said something kind about the Clinton administration I received a lot of hate mail and was banned several time for absolutely nothing that I could figure. It seemed all it would take to get banned was to have one of the RW posters send an accusation to the monitors. I know nine other people who eventually cancelled their AOL because of their ultra RW leanings and the treatment of liberal posters on their boards.

9. The company can go fuck itself
Treated like shit--- actually worse. People were being banned because they opposed the war in various forums.
