Bush voter and cultural warrior guilty of adulterous affair with a minor!
Oops! (David Shuster) 12/7/2004

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5445086/

One of the ironic things about a Presidential campaign is that the candidates introduce us to thousands of people who are held out as an "example" of something. And days, weeks, or months later, we find out the supporter is not somebody the candidate or campaign would ever want to associate with.

The latest example comes courtesy of the atrios blog. On October 6, less than a month before the election, President Bush went to Des Moines, Iowa and introduced us to Mike and Sharla Hintz, a couple that the President said benefited from the administration's tax policies. Because of the child tax credit, Mike and Sharla Hintz received an extra $1,600 in their tax refund... and with other tax cuts, the President said they saved enough money to buy a more efficient stove, make some home improvements, and go on a vacation to Minnesota. Mr. Bush joked, "Next year, maybe they'll want to come to Texas." Mike Hintz, a First Assembly of God youth pastor, said he supports Mr. Bush's values. Hintz specifically mentioned the "war with our culture that's going on."

Hintz seemed like a perfect example for the Bush campaign. Here was a youth pastor, a family man, a father of four... who could talk taxes while condemning the hollywood cultural trash. Perhaps Mr. Hintz was referring to mass entertainment's obsession with sex... or the impact such morals have had on teenagers and children?

Speaking of morals, we've now learned that at the time of the Bush campaign event, Mike Hintz had been conducting an affair with a 17-year-girl who was a member of the church youth group. Iowa television station KCCI is now reporting that Hintz was fired at the end of October and has now been "charged with the sexual exploitation of a child."

A Bush campaign official points out that nobody knew about Mr. Hintz's problems at the time of the event. And the official noted that when you are talking about tens of thousands of volunteers or staff who help a candidate, you are always going to discover some who aren't quite what they seem. Indeed.

1. I think B* voters should look at their own sins. I think they should
quit throwing stones from their glass houses. Morally repugnant they are.

4. Once again proving that marriage does not stop anyone from

sexually exploiting adolescents or pre-pubescent children if they have those sorts of desires.

Also reminds us, again, that the people who are most likely to abuse your children -- apart from you and your spouse, that is -- are going to find jobs that put them in contact with children, possibly including yours. There's only so much that the church or school that employs them can do to protect your children. In the end, it's always going to be up to parents to protect their children from predatory adults.

5. Guess it it OK for Bush and wrong for Clinton.
When Clinton got mixed up with people who were off color, Clinton was the sinner. With Bush I guess he just does not know what he is doing.

6. Hintz seemed like a perfect example for the Bush campaign.
I'd say that he is a very good example of the Bush campaign. Too lazy to work, to nervous to steal. Stands in your face giving the gospel, with one hand in you back pocket and the other on your daughter's tits. The essence of the Bush administration.

8. *sigh* when is the sexual underground going to rebel?
the amount of gossip that passes through their fingers can destroy any politician (exceptbush, because he's the messiah :eyes:). i'm starting to dig what the Act Up members of britain did, outing all the members of the house of lords and commons caught up with 'naughty behavior.' it sure cured a lot of the self-righteous fingerpointing.

what if the sexual world decided to say 'enough is enough' and just start outing these frauds one by one, each weekend, until all illusions are shattered and we are left with nice, empty closets. it'd really do a lot to reduce this puritan fever we've been having of late. either the patient gets better by getting a grip on reality or it dies of shame. bring it to critical mass. expose all these hypocritical bastards. they are actively hurting people, why should they be protected anymore? call a spade a spade and humble these 'moral values' moneychangers.

ugh, i've had it. if i could dish on these bastards i would. no more protection, no more illusions, no more kind words, it's time for the 'virtue addicts' to take a hard look in the mirror.

9. Although I don't consider Iowa to be a real red state...I'm glad there's
still a vast moral contrast between "red state minded voters" and "blue state minded voters".

14. The Bigger Story is MSNBC CHOOSING to Tarnish Bush's "Morality Mandate"!
They CHOSE to report this story, just like they have chosen NOT to cover the election fraud.
