Dore Gold, Israel’s former representative to the United Nations, flew to Washington this week to warn lawmakers that the United Nations poses a threat to global security.

He met Monday with Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.), chairman of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which is investigating the U.N. scandal.

Gold, who served at the United Nations from 1997 to 1999, was scheduled to meet yesterday with Republican and Democratic congressional staff members dealing with national security.

He said that since its inception in 1945, the United Nations has strayed from its first principles of defending justice and freedom toward coddling dictators and becoming a repository for anti-Semites.

“The U.N. will attack Israel for jaywalking while other states are involved in mass murder,” Gold said in an interview.
