LOCK THREAD, looks like it's an old article
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 02:42 AM by JI7
i guess they aren't stopping with the oath thing even after the elections. too bad the whore media never made an issue out of it. imagine if it was the democrats who did this.

(on edit, this article might be from during the campaign and before the elections, but the date on the site is December and on Google it came up as recent news so i'm not sure)

<RIO RANCHO, N.M. -- Some Democrats who signed up to hear Vice President Dick Cheney speak here Saturday were refused tickets unless they signed a pledge to endorse President Bush.

The measure was a security step designed to avoid a disruption, which Bush campaign spokesman Dan Foley alleged Democrats were planning. Democratic Party officials denied it.

Several Democrats, at least, encountered the screening measures Thursday after calling from a line that self-identified as ACT, America Coming Together, an activist group that supports Kerry, Foley said. Others attempted to give false names and were denied tickets, he said.

Two men who had sought tickets reported they were required to give name, address, phone number, e-mail address and driver's license number, then were presented the pledge of endorsement when they arrived to pick up the tickets Thursday.

One of them, John Wade of Albuquerque, said he signed the pledge because he wanted the tickets but then changed his mind.>

1. What would happen if one signed the oath and then "disrupted"?
What would be the punishment? How can they inforce this "oath"?

Does anyone know?

3. You get promptly escorted out by the secret service.
This happened a few times during the campaigning.

2. I can't believe they are still asking for pledges
unless there is another reason for this. I am sure there is something very scary coming up, and all across the country - all those signed pledgers are going to end up as the favored, non-enemy list people, and we're not.:scared:

6. that's what fascists DO . . . and if anyone has any doubts that . . .
we're living in an increasingly fascist state (increasing exponentially, as a matter of fact) . . . well, take a look at "The Leader" in his new Mussolini getup today . . . "George W. Bush, Commander-in-Chief" it said over his left tit . . . I for one can't wait to see the matching hats . . .

5. I think that's old news
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 02:38 AM by fnottr
At least there was a story exactly like it from september or october, that is, Cheney was in Rio Rancho and made people sign oaths to see him. I haven't heard about anyone from *'s administration coming to NM since the election. I mean, why would they?

Edit:

looks like Newsjock beat me to it...
