Bush Helps Assemble Soldier Care Packages
FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- President Bush chipped in Friday at a warehouse that fills care packages for troops overseas, stuffing plastic bags with candy canes, presidential coins, playing cards and other goodies.

Bush shed his coat and tie to join an assembly line inside a cavernous warehouse on this military base just outside Washington.

"You can't ever thank the troops enough," the commander in chief said. "This is one way of saying `America appreciates your service to freedom and peace and our security.' I hope the troops understand that with this package comes a lot of support and a lot of affection."
...
Other volunteers, some in military fatigues, hooted, hollered and snapped pictures with the president as he worked on the line. "This little operation here is cranking out a lot of care packages," the president said. "With it is a message of good will and hope."

7. Wonder if he give back all the soldiers arms and legs that
have been lost, or bring back the dead soldiers or for
that matter all the dead and wounded Iraqi's?

He created hell on earth and now he want to offer them
candy and cookies. Is this insane or what?

8. The military wouldn't NEED care packages if pResident AWOL and his
buddies hadn't gotten ahold of the government and used it to profit themselves at the cost of these people, ALL our our nation, and the citizens of Iraq.

If he so self-assured about the war, if he's so damn convinced that things are going so well, and if he truly believes the propaganda about 'freedom' that he's always inflicting on the world he really needs to start suiting up and handing a gun to some of the people in his own family, in cheney's family (Mary for instance), and the rest of his fricking cabal. It's long past time that he start showing the 'courage of his convictions' so to speak.

9. And three minutes later,
he put his coat and tie back on, posed for two more pictures and left quickly, muttering to Rove, "Why do I have to do fucking bullshit like that? Damn. GET ME A DRINK."

10. OMFG, he ACTUALLY "shed his coat and tie"...he IS God's Chosen One!
Man, we're not even at the end of Bush-Cheney I, how the HELL are we going to make it through Bush-Cheney II?

FOUR more years of Stepford Wife Pickles
FOUR more years of mummified parents, Pappy 'n' Bar
FOUR more years of the "innocent" Bush "kids"
FOUR more years of crippling economic policies created solely for the benefit of his "base" of the "haves" and "have mores"

The standard response to the "You can't ever thank the troops enough" crap, at least from what I've seen on DU, has become "If you want to THANK them enough, BRING...THEM...HOME."

:grr:

13. or how about a paycheck and a plane ticket home for Christmas?
Edited on Sat Dec-11-04 12:37 PM by American liberal
If you've read the story in the Middletown, NY, Times Herald-Recorder, Spc. Loria lost his arm earlier this year in a roadside bombing attack. (He was in a Humvee without adequate armor.) He went from a hospital in Wash., DC, back to Fort Hood, TX, was finally released after months and months, then the military confiscated his final paycheck, saying that he owed the military almost $2,000.

Bush is a lying hypocrite. He's going down. There's no way people are going to stand for this for 4 more years.
