New delay for US missile defense test (radio transmitter failure)
Edited on Mon Dec-13-04 09:26 AM by maddezmom
The US Missile Defense Agency has once again postponed a planned missile defense flight test, this time due to the failure of a radio transmitter at the test range site in the Pacific, a spokesman said early Monday.
The agency has been trying to conduct the test, which would be the first of its kind in two years, since the middle of last week, but has already put it off three times due to bad weather at launch sites.

"The missile defense test planned for (Sunday) evening has been postponed due to a malfunction of test range safety equipment at Kwajalein Atoll," said Rick Lehner of the Missile Defense Agency.

"Contingent on acceptable weather and repair of the safety equipment, the test could take place Monday evening."

2. Maybe they wil "Phone First!"
We could set up a Toll-Free number to call when you're about to launch a rocket. That way we can choose from whatever inbounds are targeting a city with the best weather. :nuke:

11. Great idea! I bet the President has some friends in the phone company ...
... who could use a billion dollars or two to set up the toll-free number and publicize it among rogue nations.

5. Don't forget, our missles can only find their missles if they have
a radio transmiter in them. Hope we're selling good quality radio transmitter to our enemies. Gee, I wonder what else we could have done with a trillion dollars.

8. The primary, core system of missile defense works flawlessly.
That would be the wheelbarrows loaded with money going into CEO bank accounts.

10. If we won't send a plane to intercept another plane
Edited on Mon Dec-13-04 10:06 PM by proudbluestater
why in the HELL do we need a missile defense system? Who is making this, Boeing? Whoever it is, they are getting 10 billion from us. Reagan and his "star wars" lives on.

Don't you feel safer now? We may someday in the distant future be safe from missles. But not shoe bombers, hijackers with box cutters, suicide bombers, etc.
