Ireland says new compromise possible after I-R-A rejects photos of disarmament

DUBLIN, Ireland Sinn Fein (shin fayn) leader Gerry Adams says the latest Northern Ireland peace plan is being picked apart over minor details.

The Irish Republican Army says it's willing to throw out its remaining weapons stockpiles. But after meeting today with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Adams insisted the I-R-A won't allow photographs of its disarmament.

The photos had been part of a peace plan unveiled by Blair and Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern (uh-HURN') last week.

1. Its mere symbolism anyway
Even if they do disarm, and everyone agrees that they do, they could rearm in the time it takes to telephone their buddies at NORAID.
