Soldiers' anger over Iraq crash
Edited on Tue Dec-14-04 01:11 AM by Tinoire
Pales in comparison to what is being done to the Iraqis but really, what the hell is wrong with the US Army? This is how they treat their "allies"? Don't answer... I can't believe that no officer or NCO in the entire convoy reported this. We're becoming very... German... nobody seeing or remembering anything... even when our "friends" are involved.

Soldiers' anger over Iraq crash
By Phil Mawson
BBC News

The three soldiers are suing the US army for £1.2m

Three British soldiers, seriously hurt after claiming a US tank convoy ran them off a road in Iraq, have spoken for the first time about the incident.

(snip)

The US Army claims no record of the incident, despite a British report naming the US unit and driver involved.

(snip)

He said: "This is a unique case and so far the Americans have made no effort to look at this properly, or even look at the information we have given them.

(snip)

"The main claim of the Americans is that they have no record of the incident. But do they think the British just made up the name of a tank driver and the name of the regiment carrying the tank?

"This convoy must have been going from somewhere, to somewhere."

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "Clearly, the Service Police Traffic Accident Report made at the time is an official document and, if submitted in evidence, would speak for itself."

Lt Col Steven Boylan, director of the US Army's combined press information centre in Baghdad, told BBC News: "We have no record of this event happening.

"It was a long time ago and there is no-one here now who was there at that time.

"In any event, we do not comment on ongoing cases which are the subject of litigation."

1. Why are the Brits bitching about a fender bender?

They can thank their lucky stars they aren't Canadians, or they might have had a couple bunker busters dropped on their heads from a fighter jock pumped up with no-doze pills.

2. Soldiers Hold The Key
Until you guys over there start getting more PRO-ACTIVE and spilling the beans then there isn't much we can do.

All we hear is how morale is so high and how the soldiers just want to "kick butt!" Personally I don't think the scenario is a Rosey as we are being told, but OUR Media seems to be under the spell of the White House.

You soldiers want to let the world know anything, then you had better start "breaking ranks" and letting the WORLD know. You had better get organized and ROAR like a Lion, otherwise we here in America can't do SQUAT!

We have entered the realm of THEOCRACY and dissenters are NOT WELCOMED! I was around during Viet Nam and I know it was the soldiers who FINALLY started telling the truth and then we started protesting the killings.

You HOLD THE KEY, open the door!

4. So the British are responsible for
the American MSM ignoring their horrors?

I think the problem doesnt lie with the british media, I think with papers like the independant and the guardian, the UK press is doing just fine.

What are YOU going to do about YOUR media

5. The Brit media is far more independent than ours. They first
raised the question of the Jessica Lynch video, which turned out to be a highly Pentagon produced video. If you've a doubt, go with the Brits.

Sorry, it just so happens to be true ; (

8. Absolutely!
I am living the "dissenters are not welcomed" right now and I have no more energy for our army until their deer-in-headlights spouses get their asses out in the streets and start protesting themselves.

11. It will certainly take more than civilian voices to breach the psy-ops
campaign waged by this leadership against its own people.

We need a unified voice against the executive's weapons of mass deception.

7. And the US is expecting help from Germany after this fiasco?
The mind boggles. Powell can save his halitosis.

10. Powell was visited by Daniel Webster!
He sold his soul! I've said over and over and over, if this ONE man would just open his YAP, the U.S. might just do a 360, or at least be well on it's way to a complete 180!

Will he ever spill the beans? Once I respected him, now I think he's a SPAWN!

13. Powell might reprieve himself slightly if he joined McCain & Schwartzkopf
in denouncing Rumsfeld as numb-from-the-neck-down.
