Afghan forces capture Mullah Omar's security chief
KABUL (AFP) - Afghan security forces have captured the former security chief of fugitive Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar in the south of the country, officials and police told AFP.

Mullah Naqeebullah Khan, a commander in charge of planning unrest in and around the main southern city of Kandahar, was seized with another major Taliban figure early Monday, a senior security official said Tuesday.

Officials said it was too early to speculate whether the arrests of Khan and Mullah Qayoom Ahangar would lead to the capture of the elusive Taliban leader, who has been on the run since 2001.

Three years after the ousting of the extremist Islamic regime, Taliban loyalists are still waging a revolt against US and Afghan government troops in the restive south.

1. Some of these captures are plants to throw the opposition off.
These people are much smarter than western military. I don't trust anything they might tell us under the guise of informants or information under interrogation. They know most of our moves before we make them.
