3. But...but...but...All these votes their finding aren't benefiting Rossi
How can they just count them as if the voters deserve to have the person they voted for elected? LOL...

He's not having a good day. :)

4. Good
I was a little miffed that so far, Rossi leads Gregoire in recount pickups by 79! I am glad that this is going forward, and this should put Grgegoire over the top.

6. Exactly. Gregoire stands to gain
about 80 more net votes from these 573, which would basically put her about 50 behind of Rossi, and once King county is fully counted, I think she'll be ahead :-)

Here's a much more in-depth of these 573

14. Actually, projecting the second recount %s against the 573
Gregoire gets 331 (57.75%), Rossi 230 (40.09%), and Bennett 12 (2.16%). Gregoire ends up 101 in these ballots, IF they're counted, maybe.

Rossi is currently up a net 79, added to the 42 he already had---up 121. Gregoire is still short 20 votes, and thus needs for the hand recount to help her.

Only four counties are left to report:

King (Machine Recount #2 %s listed above)
Pierce (M/R #2--Gregoire 46.82%, Rossi 50.85%, Bennett 2.33%)
Snohomish (M/R #2--Gregoire 47.71%, Rossi 49.94%, Bennett 2.35%)
Spokane (M/R #2--Gregoire 45.28%, Rossi 52.78%, Bennett 1.94%)

So far, Rossi has gained net votes in 19 counties, Gregoire 7. Rossi's net per county-gained averages 5.1 votes, Gregoire's net per county-gained averages 2.4 votes. There has been no genuine distinction between gains and county voting trend--both have gained from the opponent's strongholds, and both have lost in their own strongholds (Gregoire net-lost 6 votes in Whatcom, net-gained 5 in Adams, for example).

BUT!

So far, only 40.28% of the votes have been manually recounted and reported. Statistically, this is still nothing more than a coin flip, and it all may well come down to those 22 King County ballots found just yesterday. Jeebus, what an election....

7. Funny thing is Rossi's from King County
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 11:48 PM by Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin
One would think he'd have a slight lead there. I mean after all liberal Seattle makes up only one third of its population.

Could it be King County knows Rossi all too well?

9. Rossi- A right wing wolf in moderate sheep's clothing.
The deal is, the Pugs' last offerings to gubernatorial elections were outright blatant right wing wackos, like Ellen Craswell and John Carlson. They didn't have a chance.

Meanwhile...Pugs find Dino Rossi, a man with a definite questionable business past, but hey, he's kinda tall, dark and handsome, family man....and Chritsine Gregoire didn't campaign as hard as many thought she should have.

Rossi is a right wing wacko too, but he hasn't shown his stripes. His kids wrote * about getting a dog, and * made Rossi acquiesce and buy one...The dog's name...Dubya.

10. Actually Rossi showed his stripes as a State Senator
The lazy fucks in the media just didn't bother to do their homework.

In 1995 he supported land speculator's welfare bill otherwise known as the property rights initiative. The state's voters defeated it by a 60% majority.

In the 2000 legislative session he sponsored a bill to eliminate HOV lanes. This would have costed the state billions in Federal Highway money.

2001 he sponsored SB 5362 which would have taken Sound Transit's money and spent it on roads. This the year after the state's voters overwhelmingly rejected Tim Eyman's I-745 which would have done the same.

Last year he was one of the Senators who protested the loss of the Senate Dining room and its French chef due to a remodel of the Capitol building.

I wonder how many would have voted for Rossi if this information was well known?

11. NOBODY in the seattle area would vote for him if he got rid of
the HOV lanes.

13. He is ant-labor and anti-environment
During the first debate, sponsored by the AWB, he said he intended to extract environmental and health & safety regulations from the state departments overseeing them.

In the face of weak environmental and labor protection by the federal government, we are in need of stronger, not weaker, environmental and health& saftey regulations.

This guy Rossi is a disaster for the environment and for many workers.

He is your guy if you are for maximum corporate profits and the fewer salmon the better.

16. The last governor who had an enviromental stance similar to Rossi's was
Dixie Lee Ray.

We all know what happened to her.

15. This will likely put Gregoire over the top.
If not I'll be happy that all the votes were counted. If it does the Rossi campaign should immediately "do the decent thing" and concede. Then they should proceed to "get over it".
