Florida warned to heed global warming

Florida, in particular, needs to pay attention to climate changes that could impact wildlife, according to a report released Wednesday on global warming.

Florida is vulnerable because of the increasing sea level, said Doug Inkley, who was chairman of The Wildlife Society technical review committee on global climate change and wildlife.

The report, done by The Wildlife Society, a nonprofit group of wildlife professionals — scientists, educators and others — includes 18 recommendations.

Scientists here in Southwest Florida already have documented impacts from rising sea levels.
