Powerful Blast Shakes Central Baghdad
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20041216/ts_nm/iraq_blast_dc&cid=564&ncid=1480

Doors and windows shook in buildings in the city center, but there were no immediate indication of what might have caused the explosion.

Insurgents frequently fire mortars at the fortified Green Zone area in central Baghdad, which houses the Iraqi interim government and the U.S. and other embassies, but Thursday's blast appeared to have detonated some distance from there.

At least two car bombs have also exploded outside entrances to the Green Zone in the past week, killing at least nine people and wounding more than 20.

U.S. and Iraqi authorities have said they expect a rise in insurgent attacks in the run-up to Iraq (news - web sites)'s election, scheduled for Jan. 30. Campaigning for the poll officially got underway on Wednesday.

,...and "fight" for all that rhetorical psy-optic crap they spew.

They should be on the front lines, along with their family.

I'd like to see AEI and PNAC and FOX members uniformed and placed on the field. They advocate WAR,...they should be on the front lines fighting the WAR they advocate.

18. I'd like to ask chickenhawk Rickie, transition to what ?!?
Anyone with military experience and a brain knows that the situation is deteriorating, and any transition will be to a worse phase of the war.

The republicans have promised things will improve after the Iraqi elections. Now that the date for elections looms closer, they know their lie will be exposed. This is why they are setting up Rumsfeld as the fall guy.

After the sham Iraqi elections, the body bags will fly home in ever-increasing numbers. The lie will be exposed and Rumsfeld will take the fall to protect the boy prince.

5. This is where we are 121604 in the US
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 09:48 AM by jmcgowanjm
I had to go to page 2 of LBN to find
leftchick's thread on Iraq.

I could be wrong. Maybe I missed another
thread on LBN.

I sure didn't see the word Fallujah.

IRR Wednesday 121504

US forces used loudspeakers to call for a one-hour truce
with the Resistance in order to remove their wounded from
the no-man’s-land between the two sides. The
Americans addressed the Resistance saying “If you are
real fighters, then display chivalry.” The Resistance
responded with hand-held microphones from a
mosque, reading out a statement written by Shaykh Abu
As‘ad ad-Dulaymi in which he said that God had
commanded them “not to have faith in the Christians, Jews,
and infidels among you.” He said, “you speak of chivalry
now after you have suffered the pain and humiliation
of punishment. So taste what you have been promised.”
The Resistance read its statement four times although
the Americans made their appeal dozens of times
over.

Massive US attack on al-Fallujah thrown back in
humiliating defeat. Dust storms blind US aircraft. Puppet
troops flee after 15 minutes of battle. Resistance
launches attacks under cover of weather. Ninety US
tanks, armored vehicles
aflame.

Can you make this stuff up? Day after Day?
Where is the BBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, UPI, CSM,
Fox, SkyNews to refute this?
Has the word Fallujah even been mentioned in
the
last 5 days by the aforementioned?

This IRR is unique and corresponds well with bits and
peaces leaking from the news blackout of controlled
media. See US airlifting all supplies. Sorry, can't
do that w/ petrol.

With the technology today, why aren't any Western
news organizations doing live broadcasts from Fallujah, as
they did
in the toppling of the Saddam
statute?

And remember, the Germans didn't have to go into
Stalingrad.
Have the Generals promised the Son of God
Fallujah before the Coronation?

9. 905amC-Fox reporter 2nd/3rd? day reporting from a room
Supposedly Baghdad. O, I'll give him the benefit
of the doubt that he's in Baghdad.

But the whole point is-we need a landmark soon/now.
That's why you always see reporters braving snow, cold
outside WH. to show that they're actually where
they say they are.

Or is it too dangerous to be outside in Baghdad
right now.

15. the nincompoop neocons have created new realities and moved on
The Iraq War is sooo 2003. Let's get with it people. You're just reacting to previous realities. The current reality agenda is raiding social security and coronating the sock puppet.

The Iraq War has been over since the June 30th handover... and I have the corporate media blackout to prove it.

17. Five killed in Baghdad attacks : Guardian!
Thank God for the foreign press!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1375214,00.html

<snip>

In western Baghdad, a roadside bomb exploded near a passing 4x4, badly damaging the vehicle. After the blast, gunmen fired on the survivors with automatic weapons, killing a foreigner and wounding two others, the al-Khadra police commissioner, Ali Hussein al-Hamadani, said. There was no immediate information on their nationality.

Mr al-Hamadani said three Iraqi national guardsmen died and six others were injured when another roadside bomb exploded in western Baghdad as their pickup truck was driving by.

Also, a US soldier was wounded when the tank he was riding in struck a mine near Beiji, 150 miles north of Baghdad, a spokesman said.

Meanwhile, US and Iraqi security forces today raided the Baghdad home of two Egyptian employees of an Iraqi mobile phone company belonging to Egypt's telecommunications giant Orascom, Dina Abu Neda, a spokeswoman for Orascom Telecom, said. She said thousands of US dollars were confiscated from the men's home.

"We don't know why they were detained, it came as a big surprise to us," Ms Abu Neda said.

20. I had a dream
That Bush was sending our soldiers to Iraq almost all 150,000. Then I saw a bomb fall out of the sky it was a nuclear bomb. The soldiers that were left in the USA all 33,000 were no match for the draconians when they started attacking the united states. The beggining of the end was here. No one knew that this is was the day of human civilization as we knew. ..>Woke up and said wow glad it was a dream....or was it???

26. Naw, you're just incorporating reality,...
,...'cause, if, IF our country was actually invaded, right now, with our forces being busied by imperialistic pursuits,...yep, we'd be in some trouble.

But,...don't worry,...we have more WMDs than practically the whole world combined. We can certainly destroy the rest of the earth while they are destroying us.

Don't worry.

Seriously.

We will get through this.
