Lott calls for Rumsfeld Resignation

Lott Doesn't Think a Lot ... About Rumsfeld
Speaking to the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) said that he felt the time was coming for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign. Bush's cabinet a.k.a "Swiss cheese" has had more turnover than a Burger King and yet one of the most controversial members, Rumsfeld, doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Lott doesn't have near the pull with the GOP since his half a century late ringing endorsement of Strom Thurmond's segregation based presidential run. Not because of what he said, but because he is bitter about his lack of support and subsequent ouster of the Majority Leadership position, and so now actually speaks his mind.

It will be interesting to see if this makes any ripples in the Republican firmament. Otter prediction: No.
