Missing JFK items found during drug raid
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/121704dnmetmemorabilia.b5b77.html

Dallas police found more than the drugs they expected during a raid on an East Mockingbird Lane apartment. They uncovered evidence from one of the most famous murder cases in U.S. history.

Inside Michael Roppolo's apartment was a trove of Kennedy assassination memorabilia, including an authentic Dallas police fingerprint card bearing the infamous name Jack Ruby.

One of the fingerprint boxes is blank, reflecting Mr. Ruby's missing left index finger, which he lost when a guitarist bit it off in a fight. "Amp. 1st Joint," it says

Police say the JFK items appear to be authentic: items marked as trial evidence including pictures of Mr. Ruby shooting Oswald and what appears to be a drawing of a map containing important assassination-related locations, such as Dealey Plaza and the street in Oak Cliff where Officer J.D. Tippit was shot.

26. Folks who collect have to have an interest in the material, but serial
killers often collect info about their victims. A morbid obsession with their crime...a psychological "verification" of the details which in their mind verifies their "obsession" to begin with. I think this is very odd, indeed.

But, then everything today is "very odd." So it may just be an "ordinary" coincidence since "Odd" is the norm. :silly:

3. Items found in drug raid that took place March 23, 2003
And Roppolo was given probationary sentence last November.

Seems odd that a druggie would have these items and not have sold them already...'course am sure there are a lot more details about this guy and his daily life we'll never know.

None of the articles online state Ropplo's age.

Link to non-registration article:
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2951993

<snip>
Police found the card and other police-related memorabilia -- including Bonnie and Clyde autopsy photos -- in Michael Roppolo's apartment in a raid on March 24, 2003.

Roppolo was convicted of drug possession in November last year and received a five-year probationary sentence.

5. It may still be an LBN worthy article
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 10:58 AM by Whoa_Nelly
Could be none of this was reported until all the items were verified as authentic.

Still...not enough info re: Roppolo... is he a direct link to Dallas 1963?...to Ruby?...Oswald?...some corrupt government official?

9. Did a Google...
with the last name and the common thread between the results is the word "mob". Who knows..maybe a distant relative or something...

One example:

http://www.mystery.tv/intelligence_files/jfk/articles/ifjk_04_the_little_man_with_the_big_plan.jsp

On September 11 1962 Carlos paid a visit to his swampland property called Churchill farms, along with three other men, Jack Liberto, Carlo Roppolo and Edward Becker. The idea was to spend some time socialising with one another whilst also talking business. During the afternoon, Becker brought up Carlos’ treatment by RFK and this sent him into a fury as he paced around the room, waving his arms and shouting.

12. They showed a photo of Michael Roppolo
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 12:42 PM by tanyev
on the news last night and he appeared to be 30ish. I watched with great interest because one of my first thoughts on hearing the teaser was that someone connected to the case had been hiding the photos. However, I notice other posts mentioning that there is another with the last name Roppolo. Father? Uncle? There could still be more to this story.

16. yeah, there should be laws aganst "druggies" owning things!
cause we all KNOW from MSM and such that drug users all don't have jobs, can't have relationships, don't care about human life, are immoral, and sell everything they own for more drugs. yeah, how odd.

ignorance isn't reserved for freepers i guess.

21. Google free association and mockingbird
Hush, little baby.
Don¹t say a word.
Mama¹s going to buy you
a mocking bird.
(Operation MOCKINGBIRD-The Subversion Of The Free Press By The CIA)

And if that mocking bird won¹t sing,
Mama¹s going to buy you
a diamond ring.
(Operation Diamond Ring – control of Liberian diamond mines)

If that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama¹s going to buy you
a looking glass.
(Doomsday Jet (Operation Looking Glass) - The mission began on 3 February 1961…From that date, a Looking Glass aircraft was in the air at all times 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for more than 29 years.)

If that looking glass gets broke,
Mama¹s going to buy you
a billy goat.
(Operation Goat Wounding is scheduled to begin soon at Fort Carson)

If that billy goat won¹t pull,
Mama¹s going to you
a cart and bull.
(Operation Bull between November 1967 and March 1968… a large-scale, long-duration operation mounted far from existing support facilities (Ho Chi Mihn Trail))

If that cart and bull turns over,
Mama¹s going to buy
a dog named Rover.
(The evacuation of all civilians from the Kim Son Valley was conducted as operation ROVER by elements of the 1st Cav Div. Once the valley was cleared, it was designated a "free-fire" zone)

If that dog named Rover won¹t bark,
Mama¹s going to buy you
a horse and cart
(The alleged existence for plans for an "Operation Horseshoe" was a crucial element of NATO's war propaganda.)

If that horse and cart falls down,
You¹ll still be the sweetest one in town.
(One of the most requested items by troops currenty serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom is telephone calling cards. The USO has put together Operation Sweet talk as a way for American citizens to help out the troops.)

13. Sometimes stuff like this does appear on the market....mostly it was....
taken years ago illegally and then passed around until sold or a story like this bring it to the light of day. Usually one finds a slimy dealer trying to sell the stuff.

Good example the John Lennon newspaper from a few years back.

In my historic job sometimes I have to go after people who possess or sell local documents. In most cases they don't realize that they belong to the government. We always come to an agreeable arrangement.

20. I live near Mockingbird Ln. here in Dallas..
It bisects the entire city basically and one of the addresses on it belongs to Love Field where Kennedy landed the day he was killed. This street is also mentioned quite often in the biography of Bonnie and Clyde as they travelled the city throughout their short crime carreer. Bonnie Parker is buried in a cemetary near Mockingbird Ln. It really isn't a "lane" at all these days... six lanes, 45 mph speed limit!

27. The "missing" JFK exhibits
aren't really "missed" by the authorities. They never intended the American public get a good look at it.
