Feeney implicated in vote fraud
(That's the exact title)

I'm posting this in Latest Breaking News because this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this in Feeney's old county. Mods, please move if you think it should be.

Seminole Chronicle:

Congressman sought to alter totals, testimony in Ohio case says

Republican Congressman Tom Feeney of Oviedo asked a computer programmer in September 2000, prior to that year's contested presidential vote in Florida, to write software that could alter vote totals on touch-screen voting machines, the programmer said.

The programmer, Clint Curtis, made the claim Monday in sworn testimony to Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee investigating allegations of voter fraud in the 2004 presidential election involving touch-screen voting in Ohio.

<snipped details we already know about Curti's testimony. Feeney could not be reached for comment. The attorney for Yang, Michael O'Quinn is outraged. Claims Curtis's claims are outrageous>

Continue quote:
Curtis said he has been trying to get attention drawn to his claims since shortly after leaving Yang...After watching a news report about voting machines in Florida being installed at precints without having their software inspected, he said he redoubled his effort to get public attention.

'People finally care,' Curtis told the Chronicle. "Coming forward isn't the problem, it's people caring."

That my four paragraphs allowed by DU.

The rest says that a non-partisan government watchdog group called Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is checking Curtis' claims. Curtis says he's working with the FBI to investigate another claim concerning Yang and NASA, but NASA says that the person Curtis mentions has never worked for the company.

Yang's lawyer also says that Curtis is motivated by money and he points out to the $200,000 bonus money from the Justice Through Music Project, but Curtis said that he didn't want the money.

I have to run, but I'll leave it to the mods to decide whether this needs to be moved to another forum. Title and four paragraphs are typed as per DU rules.

BTW, the Seminole Chronicle is a weekly paper. I've never seen it before, but it could be the same weekly that use to be published under another name.

13. No link. It was a local weekly.
The ones I'm use to seeing are the Oviedo Voice, but this was the first time this one caught my eye. I typed what you saw. But I still have the paper. I'll scan it if it someone gives me a safe internet connection to upload to.

Send it to Senator Bill Nelsen and Waxell. Waxell is supposed to
be investigating FL irregularities. He was at the initial hearings with Conyers in Washington. I think I am spelling his name correctly. He is also one of the signatures on the letter to the GAO requesting investigation. I can forward it if you want. They SHOULD be aware of this development but who knows.:hi:

go to his web site; he's the original progressive dem along with Kathy Dopp, a mathematician, who put the FL voter fraud all together and have hammered on about it: pull her up and look at the stats:

better served with getting ANY senators' attention at this point...like Bill Nelson. I wrote him and he replied. I have posted his reply before. Hell, send it to any and ALL senators, congresspeople, the media & Fisher!

35. Once again,
He thought Feeney was trying to determine how easy it would be for SOMEONE else to tamper with black boxes. But the idea didn't seem feasible to him at the time becuase it never occurred to him that Democrats would allow an election to take place without first compiling the source code or without demanding a paper trail. And I agree with him. Why did the Dems roll over on this one? When, exactly, have the Republicans played fair and honorably? It's been so long I don't recall.

I warned them,...repeatedly.

I warned them,...way in advance.

They did not listen.

I think they simply could not accept the level of evil involved.

They are sobering up to that reality, now.

24. He brought up a very important point
from the article...

That's a very, very important reason that things get hidden, and never see the light of day. For something that's supposed to be the "Liberal Media", they sure do act like they're in Chimp's corner, don't they?

27. A real asshole
This guy is a nasty miserable son of a bitch who would step on his mother`s chest to get what he wanted. He is a Tom Delay clone. He was the one who got Wang the job to update the state`s computers for millions and they did not do their job fully and correctly. Guess who`s former attorney`s office defended the company when the state sued them. You guessed it, Feeney`s. These are the kind of fuck heads the republicans promote and protect. Just like Kathrine Harris. Need I say more?

Congressman Tom Feeney represents the 24th District of Florida, which covers portions of Brevard, Orange, Seminole, and Volusia counties. Feeney, elected in 2002, was previously Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and was Governor Jeb Bush's running mate in his first race for governor in 1994, narrowly losing to incumbent Lawton Chiles.

Edited on Sat Dec-18-04 10:22 AM by BlueDog2u
At the House Judiciary URL, you can email Chairman Sussenbrenner with request for a full investigation of Feeney.

fttp://www.judiciary.house.gov/contact.aspx

Here's a sample, courtesy of the Bradblog (keep up the great work, Brad!):

To: The Honorable Committee on the Judiciary

Mr. Chairman,

Many citizens are disturbed that many on the committee are ignoring the serious evidence and allegations about the shameful situation in the state of Ohio.

Hearings have been scheduled there about serious vote problems ... the foundation of our republic ... and many on the committee are ignoring it.

This kind of crime is deplorable (18 USC 1030) ... there is sworn testimony already that Triad and Diebold are modifying computer internals during recount without specification of: 1) what is really being done; 2)who ordered it to be done; and 3) why it must be done.

Please get this under control by full committee hearings in public.

Sincerely,
name
>>
