Ensign: Bush's Nevada win holds him to Yucca rulings
Edited on Mon Dec-20-04 09:18 PM by NVMojo
I posted a different version of this yesterday but I am posting this one that came out today from Washington because the "republican rhetoric" contained in this article is just so dang fascinating. Bush beat Kerry by about 21,000 votes. Did you know that the City of Las Vegas alone, has over 30,000 homeless people? 21,000 is not a mandate in Nevada for "moral issues". Especially in a state that makes its living off of sex, drinking, gambling and smoking whenever possible.

snip...

The Nevada senators wanted hard data to show lawmakers in Congress in the coming year that a Bush victory did not equal a softening on Nevada's anti-Yucca stance.

snip...

Bush's victory in Nevada gives the state leverage to hold Bush to his vow to allow court rulings to stand, Ensign said.

"Nevada was key to his victory," Ensign said. "We delivered Nevada." (sure with those old Sequoias in Las Vegas that can't do a detailed recount).

snip...

Nevadans elected Bush even though he approved the project to construct a high-level nuclear waste repository 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas. Bush's victory would have been much larger if opponent John Kerry had not clearly stated he opposed Yucca, Reid said.

The survey commissioned by Reid and Ensign showed that voters made their vote for president based on these top four issues: Iraq, "moral issues," the economy, and the war on terror. (says who??)

6. Nope. No luck. S'okay though. We all know what a lying ass is
GWBush and his "followers," as well as their willingness to do anything for a vote.

As for my username, handle, nick or whatever. Nope. I've had this nick long b4 that movie. It's an old saying, "instead of the dog wagging its tail, the tail is wagging the dog," meaning that the act is backwards, screwed-up, oppositional. I use it because a lot of folks in message boards, irc, blogs get carried away w/ misinformation which is what that Albanian War was all about in "Wag the Dog -- the Movie," so much misinformation that it deflected away from reality. Now, there. You've got more information than you'd ever want! And I superimposed "tale" for "tail" to further the point . . . :boring:

2. Gotta love that Bush Voter logic.
"We voted for him, so he has to do what we want."

That's not how it works. Sorry, dumbass. You lose at life.

4. How long must we endure this canard?
> ... voters made their vote for president based on these top four
> issues: Iraq, "moral issues," the economy, and the war on terror.

And how did they determine that? By using exit polls that we are told can't be relied upon?

11. thanks for your compassion
am so sick of hearing that...we're not certain Bush won in Nevada but thanks to Heller we'll never know.

As a tyke growing up in Mesquite Nevada downwind from above ground testing and having fire dept come by after every test to hose off the "pink dust" from cars and roof of home...think it's time your state shared in radiation.

I'm not familiar with Nevada politicos NVMojo - is he scrambling to save his own skin, or is he just regular stupid? Does he really believe he was betrayed after he sold his soul?
