1. What got me was I saw Armitage on Hardball last night
When asked about the question presented by the soldier about the lack of armor for the Humvees, Armitage said that he thinks Rummy was suprised to learn of this, and that things are now being fixed. He also said that the commanders on the battlefields should be looked at for sending their troops in without proper equipment. Umm, hello! Months ago there was a unit that refused to go on an assignment because they didn't have armored Humvees, and they were disciplined. BS that Rummy didn't know. WE knew...but he didn't??

9. Utter HORSESHIT from the admin
Rumsfeld was SURPRISED to learn of THIS???!!!!

How is it that it was part of Kerry's stump speach then? We've known these guys needed more ARMOR from day one!

The fact that Armitage is lying shows that the whole lot of them needs to be thrown in prison!

23. I'm glad they're blaming the commanders.
Maybe now the military will realize what we have known for a long time - that the b*sh administration doesn't give a FUCK about anyone but themselves.

At this point, there are two groups who can end the war - the Iraqi resistance, by kicking us out, or the soldiers themselves, by refusing to fight in this illegal disaster.

I'm hoping it's the latter.

3. Rumfilled is an unsympathetic character who will be scapegoated
Yes, he's incompetent, and he should have been gone the day the Abu Ghraib scandal broke, but it's Wolfowitz and Feith who are the architects of this war.

I'd like to see them all charged.

I'll have to wait.

6. If * keeps pulling shit like defeding Rummy...
He's for sure going to get the Repukes kicked out of office. Now that he has no election to face its only a matter of time before he shoots himself and his party in the foot.

All he needs is a few more of those delightful press conferences and the rest of the party is fucked.

"Excellent," as Mr. Burns would say.

18. I..am going to agree with you.
Sometimes I think I'm living in another dimension, or maybe I'm dreaming all this? Because Bush is such an incompetent fool that it just boggles the mind. It can't be for real!!! Can it?

Just look at the thread about Bush's press conference. Note the comments posted underneath. I didn't watch the conference*. I didn't have to. All I have to do is read the comments which tell me everything.

*I don't have my TV anymore. It's been moved out to the garage. Blame Bush for that. His ugly face and whiny voice were just a little bit too much.

And you're right: if he keeps this up, no one can continue this ridiculous charade. Even his supporters are going to get sick of it.

12. Spend More Time With His Family?
Just watch, Rummy will resign to "spend more time with his family" but then just to show it wasn't due to poor performance, he'll get some medal of honor just like Tenet did.

14. Keep Rumsfeld! He is a liability to bush, he is the image of failure!
If you really want to sink the ultra-right and the idiot administration then you will make sure that the whitehouse retains all the screw-ups that stink of failure, then admit one by one that they screwed up. If Rumsfeld keeps tripping over himself then he won't be able to successfully prosecute any more wars, he won't have the support.

A better replacement would only further the cause of the neo-cons.

The GOP is its own worst enemy.

The downside is that many will die in the GOP's wake.

19. Things will get even more "tents" for Rummy now
Bush may be looking for a scapegoat, not that I have any use for the inhuman Rummy. I don't know if Bush dares take on Rummy though - he must know a lot.

21. health reasons, time with family, other pursuits
will be the "public" reason for him leaving. general consensus among people I've talked to is Rummy will resign after Iraqi(s)Elections. The Iraqi (s)Elections won't result in "peace" or an end to fighting -- if anything it will intensify.

ever wonder what happens to people bush* stands behind? http://radfringe.tripod.com/

We won't be seeing much of Rummy in the next few weeks -- he's going to be laying low and spending his time signing letters. Did I mention resigning because of "health reasons" -- with all that letter signing he will be doing, the health reason may be carpal tunnel.

Meanwhile -- the mess in Iraq -- is Clinton's fault. I've heard this from more than one talking-ass-kisser.

The logic -- a current president depends on the military inherited from a predecessor, ie. bush* invaded Iraq with CLINTON's military. However, they fail to mention the Iraq Invasion was one of CHOICE and not of necessity.

25. Other way around - Bush is the tool.
Cheney, Wolfowitz, Feith, and Rummy are in charge. Poppy Bush, Perle, Baker, Kissinger et al are the other men behind the curtain. Read PNAC.

26. Now, now, now!
We really should stop complaining about Rummie and calling for his resignation. After all, to paraphrase the man himself: "You go to war with the Secretary of Defense you have, not the Secretary of Defense you wish to have."
