Michigan Congressman Seeks Exit Poll Data

U.S. National - AP
By SETH SUTEL, AP Business Writer

NEW YORK - The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee (news - web sites) has asked The Associated Press and five broadcast networks to turn over raw exit poll data collected on Election Day so that any discrepancies between the data and the certified election results can be investigated.

Rep. John Conyers (news, bio, voting record) Jr. of Michigan said in a letter released Tuesday in Washington that the polling firms that conducted the polls on behalf of the news organizations, Mitofsky International and Edison Media Research, had declined to share the information with the committee.

2. Michigan Congressman Seeks Exit Poll Data
The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee (news - web sites) has asked The Associated Press and five broadcast networks to turn over raw exit poll data collected on Election Day so that any discrepancies between the data and the certified election results can be investigated.

Rep. John Conyers (news, bio, voting record) Jr. of Michigan said in a letter released Tuesday in Washington that the polling firms that conducted the polls on behalf of the news organizations, Mitofsky International and Edison Media Research, had declined to share the information with the committee. "Without the raw data, the committee will be severely handicapped in its efforts to show the need for serious election reform in the United States," Conyers said in the letter.

The AP and the five television outlets — ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Fox — formed a consortium called the National Election Pool to conduct exit polls for this year's election after disbanding a previous exit poll group called the Voter News Service, which had problems in both the 2000 and 2002 elections.

Edie Emery, a spokeswoman for the National Election Pool and a CNN employee, said the poll data were still being analyzed and that the group's board would decide how to release a full report on the data early next year. "To release any information now would be incomplete," she said.

29. consortium = conspiracy
It does look like all the players are involved.

I know someone here posted screen shots of the original exit polls...several times. (May be over at the "election 2004" page.

3. RAW STORY has Conyers' letter to the networks
Got it a few hours ago ;). Takes AP a few hours to catch up!

http://rawstory.rawprint.com/1204/conyers_exit_polls_1221.php

The following letter, issued by Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-Mich), calls on the five major television networks and the Associated Press to release the raw exit poll data from the 2004 presidential election. The letter below, acquired by RAW STORY late this afternoon, is a facsimile; the congressman's office said an actual image of the letter will not be released until Wednesday.

The letter was sent to: Anne Sweeney, Co-Chairman, Media Networks, The Walt Disney Company and President, Disney-ABC Television Group; Bob Wright, President, NBC; Gail Berman, President, FOX; Jim Walton President, CNN; Thomas Curley, President, Associated Press; and Andrew Heyward, President, CBS.

"As you are aware, the American citizenry has voiced a collective lack of faith in government to carry out fair election procedures," Conyers writes. "It is important that the Judiciary Committee access raw voter poll data so that discrepancies between those numbers and certified election results can be investigated...Without the raw data, the Committee will be severely handicapped in its efforts to show the need for serious election reform in the United States."

9. And what happens if they refuse,
citing "confidentiality" or "proprietary information", just as Mitofsy did? Can he subpoena the information from them? Other legal recourse actions?

14. The media has a lot riding on this
Conyers and others are going to make the theft of the election a story the media won't be able to ignore. He's putting them on the spot.

They lose any lingering trust the people of this nation might hold for them if they refuse to help a representative of THE PEOPLE ensure the democracy we all hold so dear is sound, alive.

This is a great story here too, because the media's refusal to share the info makes it seem as if they have something to hide. That there may indeed be something to the charges - what are they hiding?

They can't just refuse, and that be that.

26. I was wondering, from a legal standpoint...if by ignoring crminal evidence
...and actually covering it up (by NOT reporting it)...if that would make MSM an "accessory to the fact"...in "aiding and abetting" criminal acts?

Any lawyers out there? Wonder if we could pressure them on this, and other Shrubco-related issues, to start reporting the Truth.

12. Nothing will change
People I want Bush out just like many but the fact is while dems try to regroup the repubs work on the election fixing skills. Bush is in and only way he will be out is if the impeachment goes through. I am just facing the facts 4 more years and if there is a world in 08 perhaps Clinton will save us again

13. Keep digging Conyers
"Like Congressman Conyers, we believe the American people deserve answers," said Jack Stokes, a spokesman for the AP. "We want exit polling information to be made public as soon as it is available, as we intended. At this time, the data is still being evaluated for a final report to the National Election Pool."

Officials from ABC and NBC referred calls for comment to the National Election Pool, where CNN's Emery responded for the group. A CBS spokeswoman declined to comment, and officials at Fox could not be reached.

17. Does "evaluate" mean "manipulate" the data so it
matches the official results?

By the way, Arnebeck said he will ask for the raw data, at least for Ohio, as part of the discovery phase of his suit.

Title Kerry Winning Exit polls- Fraud looks probable
Forum General Discussion : Politics
Last Alter day Nov 7

I cant msg any one here so l just post it

Why so important:
There is 2 snap shot of Exit poll screen on CNN.com

AT 12.21 am
Sample size taken into consideration 1,963
Results ( Only showing male for example)
Total Male 47% = 922.6 males
Total male for Bush 49% for Kerry 51% hence total male for Kerry 470.5

AT 1.41am
Sample size now 2020 with ( note an increase of 57 taken into consideration ... 1963+57... thats how sampling work)
Result Male
Total Males 47% = 949.4
Total Male for Bush 52% total male for Kerry 47% hence Kerry now got 446.2 vote

Logic: How can Kerry get 470 male respondents voting for him at sample 1963 and end up with 446 at sample 2020 with an additinal 57 more people being survey.

This prove there is a fix on Exit Poll Data between 12.21 am and 1.41 am. There is snap shot of screen taken and posted.

Took me a long time to get to the archives and its still there

31. SCREEN SHOTS
It's unbelievable that the raw data is locked away!
Is that democracy? In the meantime we need to get more of the exit poll results onto exitpollz.org (those published on CNN before the figures were changed!
If you have any screen shots send them to dave@exitpollz.org and they will be added to the other data (evidence) that is already there.
Please talk about his on other blogs. There is still more data out there -it's just a question of getting it.
