CANON CITY, Colo. -- Authorities in southern Colorado are asking for help in finding a 54-year-old former Navy spy who has been missing since summer.
Eugene Fish, 54, has not been seen or heard from since June 21, Fremont County sheriff's Detective Clint Robertson said this week.
Fish was living with his wife, Lynn, in a gated community outside Canon City. Robertson said Lynn Fish told them her husband was unhappy and "was leaving to start over.''
"She said he tore up his credit cards, packed his bags, took some cash, got in his truck and left,'' he said. "She said his truck turned up again three days later at the end of their driveway, but she did not report him missing because in her mind, he was more of a runaway than missing.''
Lynn Fish estimated her husband had $10,000 to $25,000 in cash on him when he left, authorities said. He is a former Navy intelligence officer, former Nuclear Regulatory Commission worker and former F-105 pilot.
Family and former co-workers suspect foul play, Robertson said.
