Bush expected to make comment today on Indian Ocean tsunamis
CRAWFORD, Texas (CNN) -- Interrupting a holiday vacation at his Texas ranch, President Bush is expected to speak publicly Wednesday for the first time about the Indian Ocean tsunamis that have killed tens of thousands

11. The correct phrase is "couldn't care less about"
When you say "could care less about", you're actually saying the opposite of what you intend to say.

63. W stands for Waldo....
Edited on Wed Dec-29-04 09:17 PM by rainbow4321
Always has...back when he was stealing the first election <and he was out campaigning like it was going to be a REAL election>, he pissed off the Texas lawmakers by running around the country instead of staying here and addressing TX problems <most of which he caused, BTW>. One lawmaker had made a comment that the W stood for Waldo and they felt like they were playing Where's Waldo/"W" when it came to getting shrub's attention.

He never did show back up here when the tornado went thru downtown Ft Worth..he was too busy "campaigning" outside of Texas and sent the Lt Gov. to survey the area. When the reporters asked the Lt Gov when shrub would be returning to look at the downtown devastation, the Lt Gov smiled and said the reporters would have to ask shrub's office.
Yet a few weeks later when that Catholic Church official died in NYC, shrub took time out and showed up for the funeral..guess he thought of it as a more important photo op than coming back here to TX.

21. Why
If people being actively washed away by the tsunami could take pictures with their video cameras, why the devil was this Q&A period not televised with video? Has Bush broken out with sores and boils again?

Did I hear him correctly when he said the US has pledged "$35 BILLION" dollars in relief? Every figure I've read was $35 Million. Not that I'm complaining, but if he said "Billion" when he was supposed to say "Million", someone's going to have some 'splaining to do. It was hard to tell with that fuzzy audio, though.

Big word from chimpass...guess the phonics program has really paid off.

Funny, this quote can also be said about all the soldier and civilian deaths under shrub's regime....

"It's just beyond our comprehension to think about how many lives have been lost," Bush said after emerging from a holiday vacation at his Texas ranch to make his first comments on the four-day-old disaster

BTW, how nauseating is it that there may be 3,000 <by some reports> of Americans missing and the muther-you-know-what kept his butt at his ranch instead of hauling ass back to the WH?? Guess he saw it as too much "hard work".

According to chimp:

"Well, I felt like the person who made that statement was very misguided and ill-informed," Bush said from his Texas ranch. "We're a very generous, kindhearted nation, and, you know, what you're beginning to see is a typical response from America."

He forgot to add "as long as you don't have oil under you land that we want"

70. Um, I have a question
how exactly is it INTERRUPTING his vacation if all he had to do was give a little recorded statement? He didn't even have to leave his little pig farm. What, it interrupted his afternoon nappy-wappy for fifteen minutes?

My God, the hubris of him, his embarrassing misadministration and the nasty media just slays me every time. Nothing interrupted his vacation. Oh and by the way, THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DIED. But all the media can make a big deal about is that King George had to interrupt his afternoon drinks to make a fucking statement. Big fucking deal. Why is nothing ever expected of him? Why does he get away with this shit?

71. translation:
Bush's statements about organizing a coalition are designed so that he can later claim emotional credit when speaking to his loyal base for all international aid.

Aid already rendered by countries such as japan will be mentioned as part of Bush's total coalition aid packages, as though Bush was responsible for the money coming out of Japan.

Simultaneously, the "stingy" remark will continue to be taken out of context to create the illusion of the UN attacking the Bush administration.

"Life will go on...We will prevail"
Morgan Freeman portraying the President of the United States speaking as a meteor caused tsunami threatens life on earth.

"We will prevail over this destruction,"
George Bush's speech on the Asian tsunami tragedy.
