Two car bombs hit Saudi capital

Two car bombs have exploded in the centre of the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Reports say one person was killed by the first bomb, near the interior ministry, which was set off after a failed bid to storm the office.

Soon after, a second bomb was detonated following a car driver's attempt to ram into a special forces centre. Four people were reportedly injured.

Security forces in the oil-rich kingdom have been waging a campaign against Islamic militants since May 2003.

Later on Wednesday, Saudi police raided a house in the capital and killed seven people, whom security sources said were militants suspected of involvement in the evening's attacks.
