Washington State....Rossi Calls For A Revote

<snip>

BELLEVUE - The night before Washington's secretary of state was scheduled to certify Democrat Christine Gregoire as the governor-elect, her Republican rival Dino Rossi called for a complete re-do of the longest, closest governor's race in state history.

"The uncertainty surrounding this election process isn't just bad for you and me - it is bad for the entire state. People need to know for sure that the next governor actually won the election," Rossi said Wednesday evening, reading from a letter he sent to Gregoire.

"A revote would be the best solution for the people of our state, and would give us a legitimate governorship," the letter added. <end>

7. LOL
I highly doubt it. He has the Republican hypocrite gene, after all. I happened to be listening to an interview with him on one of the local stations (I researched the station afterward - Clear Channel, what a surprise!) before the hand recount and they asked him if they could call him the Governor rather than the Governor-elect. He was happy to oblige and spent most of the interview discussing how Gregoire should just let it go.

Yo Rossi, let it go, you poser.

6. Just concede already Rossi!
You and your fellow GOP scumbags kept throwing that shit at Gore and Kerry. Now we turn the tables on you! It's our chance to gloat. Why? Because WE'RE right, and I'm sure Chris Gregoire will make a great governor.

8. Um, I wish I were sure
I never much cared for her, actually, but with the route that the Rethugs have gone I have to support the non-republican. She is a good sight better than Rossi, even without looking at affiliation but I just don't know. Me and the Shrub have something in common - we both operate from our intuition. The main difference is mine hasn't been pickled by alcohol and cocaine, but that doesn't mean I can articulate what I don't like about her. It's just a feeling, like there's a snake under that makeup. But she's a Dem, and in this day and age, that matters more. Maybe I'll like her better once I've seen her in action as the Governor.

10. I just said that out of anger towards Rossi and the Rethugs
Yes, she'll be better than Rossi because she is a Dem (and I always trust Dems a lot more than Republicans), but what do I know? I'm speaking from a New Jersey point-of-view. ;-)

We'll agree to revote in Washington if they agree to revote in Ohio. Fair is fair.

glorified used car salesman. He's got that too-slick persona. He's a Fundie, too.

19. Banana Republicanism 101.

Situation 1:

A fully hand-verified win of 130 votes is not "a legitimate governorship".

Situation 2:

A Republican candidate who admittedly loses the vote by 500,000; who appeals to a corrupt, Republican-dominated Court to stop the counting of the Florida vote; and who is, as a result, declared the "winner" of the state (by his brother, the governor, and his campaign co-chair, the Secretary of State) by 537 votes (out of 6 million cast in the state) ... THIS consitutes not only "a legitimate presidency" but, in fact, a mandate from the people and God.

Thus ends our lesson in Banana Republicanism 101.

(note: if this doesn't make sense to anyone reading this, please report to your nearest Republican Party member for an emergency infusion of Kool-Aid).

20. The Washington State re-count will be used as a test-case,
by BushCo, to show how to counter the national recount, when that day comes. They have had many years of practice and planning, and they must be ready for any eventuality.
