Alleged Al Qaeda Group Claims Iraq Attacks
Sounds like more BS from the CIA to me. Now we can kill anyone in Iraq and scream TERRORISTS! Yup.

DUBAI (Reuters) - A group claiming to be an al Qaeda wing said in an audio tape aired on an Arab television station Sunday that they and not the followers of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) were behind attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq (news - web sites).

"I swear by God no one from his (Saddam Hussein) followers carried out any jihad operations like he claims ... they (attacks) are a result of our brothers in jihad," said the unidentified voice on the tape which was broadcast by Dubai-based Al Arabiya television.

8. That's my take on it, Cocoa
If indeed this is true, what it means is that we've made Iraq *into* a fertile ground for Al Qaeda by removing Sadam Hussein. I mean, who else would move in to fill the void?

I've been royally PO'd by the unchallenged assumption that anyone shooting at American troops are Baathists. They could be individuals, and they could be members of terrorist organizations that have had the way paved for them by Bush and his idiots.

Of course, I'm not taking anything on those liars' say-so.

3. It looks very dubious
The stinking scandal about the WMD lies, now tries to shift the focus to "Iraqi/Alquaeda" links.

Yea sure, so all the Rummy/Bremer blather about "Baathist resistance" was all wrong ?

This reminds me of one of those fake Osama tapes, where he had a flat nose, was about 50 pounds heavier and much darker. :eyes:

6. Never thought I'd see the day that "an unidentified voice on a tape"...
was considered by the national media to be "news". It's just fucking pathetic.

7. If this is true...
There was no Al Qaeda presence in Iraq before the war, because as we know Saddam and bin Laden would not work together - bin Laden considered Saddam an "infidel." (In fact, that's probably something else the media should get round to investigating while they're looking up lies in the SOTU speech.)

But now, after George's great drunken charge into Iraq, we have Al Qaeda terrorists competing with Saddam loyalists to see who can kill the most American soldiers, and thus win the hearts and minds of regular Iraqis?

That's some kick ass post-war planning... :eyes:
