Iranian exiles claim Tehran after nuclear trigger
PARIS — An Iranian exile group accused the Tehran regime Thursday of conducting a secret program to develop a nuclear triggering mechanism using smuggled materials.

Iran "is getting very close to the point of industrial production" of a "neutron initiator" required to set off the fission chain reaction for a nuclear bomb, the exiles alleged.

The allegations were made by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a group dedicated to overthrowing the Iranian regime. The exiles have a mixed record: Some allegations about secret Iranian nuclear facilities have been accurate in the past, but others proved unfounded, according to Western diplomats. And the NCRI is the political wing of a cult-like organization designated as a terrorist group by the United States and the European Union.

1. Why does this all sound strangely familiar.

(YellowTimes.org) – The book "Saddam's Bombmaker," recently published by Khidhir Hamza, recounted the author's 22 years of experience with the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC). Hamza exaggerated to a great extent his own role in the nuclear weapon program. As I personally know the author and have worked with him during these two decades, I wish to clarify the following untruths and misinformation that has been postulated by him in his book."

2. This is getting old. I've heard this story before.
But I don't think the UN will go along with this charade again. If we invade, it's the US and Israel against the world. And the outcome will not be anything like our "war" in Iraq.

4. Just like Hollywood
Once you find a winning marketing formula, you stick with it. All those who enjoyed Iraq: Freedom on the March will flock to Iran: The Exiles Strike Back.

9. As Yogi Berra said, "It's Deja Vu all over again"
But our zombied fellow citizens will see this as fresh news, a new credible threat.

8. the saber-rattling ramp-up
Rice stopped short of calling for a regime change -- we'll have to wait until new product is rolled out after bush*'s vacation in August for that "slogan" to be re-issued

they are dusting off the reasons why we had to invade Iraq -- running a "search and replace" on the letter "q" replace with letter "n"

it has already been hinted that the reason there were no WMDs in IraQ is because the WMDs were moved to Iran -- look for that to be thrown around

next is to find some smidgen of hints the 9-11 terrorists had some contact with some Iranian at some point in time

then there's the "smoking gun is a mushroom cloud" commercial pundit-payola articles

meanwhile -- new toon --> http://radfringe.tripod.com/

10. It's entirely possible that it is true
Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and if they have an opportunity to develop a nuclear trigger, they will take it. But there's no doubt that we're back to square one again, dredging up questionable intelligence from questionable sources in an attempt to whip up public support for another unnecessary pre-emptive attack.

15. And so what if they are? Irael, Pakistan, India, and the US in Iraq
already have nuke triggers. I don't blame Iran one bit. It's about their nation's security, just like the Patriot Act and all weapontry in the US is supposed to be about US security. What is so difficult to understand about this?
