Bush: World Must Speak with One Voice on Iran Nukes
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=7583234

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush said on Wednesday Iran with a nuclear weapon would be a "very destabilizing" force and that it was important for the world to speak with one voice against Tehran's program.

"The Iranians just need to know that the free world is working together to send a very clear message: Don't develop a nuclear weapon," Bush said.

"And the reason we're sending that message is because Iran with a nuclear weapon would be a very destabilizing force in the world," he said during a meeting with Poland's president.

Bush said he looked forward to discussing concerns about Iran with European allies. "It's important we speak with one voice," he said.

And he can forget the U.N. Security Council, they won't even consider military action.

10. Why are we such a hard ass to Iran?
Edited on Wed Feb-09-05 02:45 PM by rugger
Iran could be one of our greatest allies. Think of all we did for Iran. We got of Hussein, we are fighting the Taliban (whic I ran hated), etc. Iran even helped the US after 9/11. Iranian citizens, especially the youth are largely ready to adopt western attitudes. With Iran as an ally, there goes our oil problems (for a while anyways).

Oh I forgot, it's because Iran supports terrorism (hezbollah) which attacks Israel. So therefore they are a terrorist regime. Forget that hezbollah has never attacked the US. By that logic, we should be cutting off ties with Ireland.

Kinda paints the picture who calls the shots for us. That is the REAL reason we attacked Iraq, because of the zionist neo con assholes in the administration.

Frankly, I think Iran SHOULD get nuclear weapons, and they have every right to do so, to counter their enemy, Israel.

Israel is not calling the shots here. It is the corporations who need the Iranian oil.

11. Yeah, in my humble opinion,
the rest of the world needs to say that Iran, as well as every other nation in the world, has the right to nuclear weapons. If we've got them, every other nation in the world needs nuclear weapons to defend themselves against a dictator like shrub.

12. That is what gets me. The US has nuclear weapons but no one
else can have them. If another country starts developing these weapons, they are immediately called an "imminent threat" by georgy boy and his neocon chickenhawks. Who made the US the "nuclear police"?

I certainly don't want other countries to have nuclear weapons, but they have a right to protect themselves against, what they view as, a threat. Right now, I would think the US is a threat to every country.

13. And if the US can get Israel to attack Iran
to which Iran may respond in kind, then WE will have a reason to go after them.

I see another Pearl Harbor being set up. THis time we'll see the handiwork behind the power play.

If our military gets hit in Iraq by Iran will the American people wake up to the neocon agenda or will they again rally "round the flag and re-institute the draft?

"I'm very pleased with the response that European leaders have given to Dr. Rice on this issue," Bush said.

They are complying with Dr. Rice's wishes and that pleases me.

No wonder, no f*cking wonder we have few friends outside the coalition of the billing.

Make sure you get that money for Poland, Mr. Frat Boy, or we will have one fewer friend on the planet.

to paraphrase...

......The US with a GIGANTIC MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX (and a dog-eared copy of PNAC is the back pocket of it's leaders) would be a "very destabilizing" force and that it was important for the world to speak with one voice against Bush's sociopathic imperialistic aggression.

43. Its wonderful
Its wonderful that Bush has such a sense of urgency over Iran developing nuclear weapons technology. However, I am curious, where the fuck was his sense of urgency while N. Korea has been amassing a nuclear arsenal over the past four years with impunity and where the fuck is his sense of urgency to deal with that problem right now. You don't think those NKPD nukes aren't for sale right now to Saudi Arabia? Al Quada? Chechen separatist? You don't think they are in NKPD missiles that can definitely hit Japan and Alaska, and likely have an outside range to the west coast of the US?

on Korea, or Saudi Arabia, or the Sudan? What is this fetishizing of Iran? He surely cannot actually have convinced himself that Iran is more of a clear and present danger to world peace than Korea?

ooops, forgot, world peace doesn't interest him. He wants a Forever War.
