Jeb Bush talks up Florida military bases in Washington

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Gov. Jeb Bush led a delegation of business and retired military leaders in meetings Wednesday with top Pentagon officials and members of Florida's congressional delegation as part of a mission to save the state's military bases from possible closure or downsizing.

Protecting the 21 installations and three unified commands during the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure, or BRAC, round is a one of Bush's core priorities. <snip>

Bush budget has construction funds for 6 NJ military bases

2. Florida looks like it is falling apart

...at least from my limited vantage point. The burgeoning underclass is right out there on the street growing in size every day.

While gazillionaires from all over the coutry build their new condos on the coast, many of the properties damaged all over the state aren't even being fixed.

Without military bases Florida would implode.
