Giuliani Tests S.C. Political Waters
He's GOT to be kidding. People here voted for * because he's a "man of God." I doubt they'd say the same about Rudy.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani didn't want to talk politics during an appearance here Wednesday night. But his reticence did little to quiet the whispers that the visit was a way for him to test the political waters for a possible presidential run.

``It's way too early. It wouldn't even be speculation to think about 2008,'' said Giuliani, the keynote speaker at a fund-raiser for tsunami relief. ``It's not something I would even think about until some time from now.''

South Carolina is among states that hold early primaries. ``It is very smart for any Republican official who is even remotely considering the presidency to spend time early in South Carolina,'' said South Carolina Republican Party Executive Director Luke Byars.

(snip)

``I'll come to South Carolina any time you invite me. It's a great state. I have some very good friends in South Carolina,'' Giuliani said. ``And also, this is a great state to play golf in.''

4. All Rudy needs is a senile old vet on a stage in SC
One who will explain how Rudy is a hero and all of the other candidates despise veterans.

7. Don't forget the rumors about other candidates' black children...
Gotta remember to play the race card. But keep the thin veneer of deniability.

5. Rudy Giuliani is running for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat in 2006.
They are planning on making the 2006 election all about ousting Hillary. Rudy and the Repubs will be pimping 9/11 all the way.

10. Just wait until one of his opponents starts circulating the pic
of the Ghoul in his Maria Antoinette dress. (he did drag for some event once) Or mention how he lived with a gay couple after he and his wife separated. That will thrill the Bob Jones types.

13. I was thinking the same thing!

I wonder what the S.C. fundies will think of Rudie's drag queen habit. Of course he could tell them he was brainwashed by the libruls and they'd believe it.

11. God I really can't stand him
One good piece of news is that recent polls have him losing to Hillary in the '06 senate race...and while polls show him topping Spitzer for governor, I think Spitzer would win that as well.

12. Wonder How Much He Charged for the Talk
Christchurch, New Zealand was going to have Rudy give a talk. Rudy at the time was in Australia and demanded a private jet fly him over, at 45,000 dollars expense. Christchurch canceled his ass!

14. Odd, isn't it, that they say we can't get a Liberal easterner
elected because the South wouldn't stand for it but when it comes to the repukes , what do they drag to the South but a liberal easterner like Guliani! Go figure.
