Judges Dissolve Ohio Vote Machine Deadline (Blackwell authority challenge)
COLUMBUS, Ohio Feb 9, 2005 — Two judges Wednesday ordered Ohio's secretary of state not to enforce a deadline for their counties to choose a voting machine vendor, saying the elections official had exceeded his authority.
...
The boards said a dispute between Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell and Attorney General Jim Petro both of whom are seeking the Republican nomination for governor should be resolved before the counties select a voting machine vendor.

Blackwell last month issued a directive ordering Ohio's 88 counties to choose by Wednesday one of two vendors of optical-scan machines, which read the choices voters make by marking paper ballots with a pencil.

In a written opinion Tuesday, Petro said the federal law phasing out punch-card ballots allows county elections officials to choose between optical-scan machines and electronic touch-screen systems. He said Blackwell didn't have the authority to issue his directive.

2. No fraud?
Does it seem a little too far-fetched?

Not when you investigate.

One thing to keep in mind here. If this story is broken in full, and if the media organizations start digging up the great stories on ALL people in power, it would be a first. I mean this would be a first in history. The media tried to assassinate Clinton over a grope, a blow job, and a trailer house loan gone bad. Bush has put us nearly $300 BILLION in debt over a war which was later admitted to be falsified. He poorly planned or ignored key intelligence data which could have stopped September 11th. And he wants to cut every social program out, including education. Even Thomas Jefferson supported public education.

Liberal bias? Then why wasn't Bush taken out before the Iraq war? Surely, our reporter community could have dug up evidence that Iraq had no nuclear, biological, or chemical program?

<sarcasm>I guess that when Bush lied, the people of America "forgave" him. It was tough, but we forgave Clinton. It bothers me that our neighbor lost their son in Iraq, but I still get angry whenever I think about Clinton and Lewinsky...</sarcasm>

Go for ink jars with purple ink. Then dip your fingers in!! This is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot believe the USA!!

We have paper ballots in Canada & it takes 20 minutes to count the votes!!
