Bush Faces Iraq Critics, Calls for Unity
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 06:17 AM by damkira
BRUSSELS, Belgium - President Bush (news - web sites) dismissed the rift with Europe over Iraq (news - web sites) as a "passing disagreement of governments" on Monday and urged greater trans-Atlantic cooperation, including more support for the fledgling Iraqi government.

"Now is the time for the established democracies to give tangible political, economic and security assistance to the world's newest democracy," Bush said in a speech intended for both European and American consumption.

Bush began a five-day European trip in Brussels, home to both the European Union (news - web sites) and NATO (news - web sites). He also planned to dine privately here with French President Jacques Chirac, one of his most outspoken critics on the Iraq war.

Despite his appeal to bury past differences, divisions remain over postwar Iraq, how to confront Iran's nuclear ambitions, a European proposal to end a 15-year arms embargo with China and a treaty on global warming spurned by Washington.

2. "passing disagreement of governments"
Exactly, he wants the leaders of Europe to do what he does and ignore public sentiment and supress its expression.

History and the facts are to be discarded. Join with Bushco in making your own reality.

For * to get his way he had better get on the ball and get Iraqi oil production back up. That's essential to the carrot he's dangling to Europe's leaders, the economic exploitation of Iraq.

His new stick is a war with Iran. A war with Iran, human issues aside, will cause a lot of economic woe for Europe. I would think an uptick in terrorist recruitment and activity would also be part of the fallout.

3. Hitler called for unity, too
with all countries that spoke German, and even some that didn't.

4. "Divisions remain over"
his lying, murdering policies.

There is such hatred for this man throughout the world, they would be damned by their neighbors if they came to any inkling of understanding with his BS.

One accomplishment he can HONESTLY claim...he has united us all in hatred!

5. You're right. Just imagine, what a legacy.
There are 6 1/2 billion people on earth today. Just imagine the vast majority of those people waking up every morning, and cursing Bush's name. They think of him, the image of his scrawny little self pops up in their minds. They become instantly angry. Some more angry (like the ones directly affected by his policies), some maybe less (the people in Madagascar might not be so angry).

But they all have one thing in common: they hate Bush. Throughout the day, if there is an accident of some kind; a rickshaw tips over accidentally, "Oh, well it was Bush's doing". Or it's raining, "Damn that Bush, he's always causing something".

Now imagine all these billions of thoughts, merging together in the ether. Powerfully driven by the most powerful emotion, hate, the thoughts move ever upward to the stratosphere. They join forces and move together, joining laser-like and aiming down, down, at the United States.....

6. Heck, don't call for unity- just do it!
We're pretty much the only country preventing unity on several issues.

8. Lying to justify a war is a crime against the peace
It is not a "passing disagreement of governments."
