Diplomats: Iran acquired nuclear arms technology by late 1980s

By The Associated Press

VIENNA - Iran, through the black market network, had accumulated all the knowledge it needed by the late 1980s to set up technology that can be used to make nuclear weapons, diplomats have said.

The diplomats, who are familiar with the work of the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency, spoke to The Associated Press on Saturday, two days before the board of the UN nuclear watchdog meets on Iran and other potential world nuclear concerns.

An agency probe over the past two years had previously established that Iran ran a clandestine nuclear program for nearly two decades, including working on uranium enrichment - which can be used to make weapons.

The diplomats, who requested anonymity, suggested that the new revelations were significant because they indicated Iran had full possession of enrichment know-how from the black market network run by Pakistan's Abdul Qadeer Khan earlier than previously believed.

Iranian cleric accuses Europeans of killing time in nuclear talks Fri. 25 Feb 2005

TEHRAN - A senior Iranian cleric accused Europeans of killing time in their negotiations over Iran's nuclear programme and pledged on Friday that Iran will resume uranium enrichment if negotiations break down.

"Europeans are killing time; Negotiations are going on but the achievement we expected has not been reached yet." said Ayatollah Ahmad Janati, a hardline cleric who heads the powerful watchdog body that vets all legislation and candidates for public office.

3. I believe it and I am SCARED!!
They have also used weapons of mass destruction in the past too. Remember the massive human waves of soldiers they used against Iraq. Imagine if they equip those soldiers with surf boards! Why, they could hit the U.S. coast in as little as 3 weeks!
