Al Qaeda members inside Pakistan getting nukes? I thought we were just worried about the Iranian ayatollahs getting them. Yikes!

LAHORE: Defence Secretary Lt Gen (r) Hamid Nawaz said on Saturday that Al Qaeda was reorganising and spreading, Geo news channel reported.

Talking to reporters in Karachi, he said the US and Pakistan were continuing cooperating against terrorism and that there was no information of Osama. He said it was necessary to control Al Qaeda in Pakistan to stop it from getting access to nuclear weapons, the report said. He said Pakistan had rejected India’s proposal of signing a ceasefire agreement on the Line of Control (LoC) and Siachen, the report said.

1. Uh, isn't one of the reasons Al Qaeda was/is so effective is that

they AREN'T traditionally 'grouped'... They're split up into small cells that don't really communicate with each other, therefore if you get a cell you don't take down the entire group.

Surpisingly, this state funding of terrorism got little media play. The cash was funded through tribal militants as repayment for loans but how is that not putting cash in Al Qaeda's pocket?

Pakistan pays tribe al-Qaeda debt

Pakistan says it has paid 32m rupees ($540,000) to help four former wanted tribal militants in South Waziristan settle debts with al-Qaeda.
Military operations chief in the region, Lt Gen Safdar Hussain, said the payments were part of a peace deal signed on Monday with tribesmen.

It is the first time Pakistan has admitted making such payments.

Also on Wednesday, wanted militant Abdullah Mehsud rejected Monday's peace deal signed by others in his tribe.

We hear that some European country or maybe SA has cut off some suspected funding source, but here is Pakistan laundering gobs of cash right to Al Qaeda- or so says their Military ops chief.

but I guess that Pakistan is such a good U.S. "friend" that country can fund Al Qaeda and let Dr. Kahn run amok with his nukes and we can still turn a blind eye.

6. This report is almost funny. What, did Pakistan FORGET to

give nukes to someone?

It looks like a way to leverage support from the US against India in Kashimir (sp?). Or, to show India that it can using the AQ card.
