Blair in new dirty tricks row over role of US 'garbage man'
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/story.jsp?story=615230

Labour has hired an American spin doctor known as the "garbage man" for publishing pictures doctored to show George Bush taking cocaine. The party faces controversy over "dirty tricks" after it said Zack Exley, 35, is working full-time on its campaign.

He is notorious in Washington as an expert in the use of the internet to spread black propaganda. President Bush was moved to call him a "garbage man". Other stunts included fake photographs of Mr Bush smoking a joint and spoof articles by him.

A Labour Party spokeswoman said: "Zack Exley is working for the party as a campaign consultant specifically using his experience of working on www.moveon.org."

Matthew Taylor, the Liberal Democrat chairman, said: "The irony of Mr Blair hiring someone George Bush has condemned as a garbage man will be lost on nobody."

1. And the dishonest little shit that won the last election...
for John Howard in Australia is now in London, assisting the campaign for the Conservative Party. Sleaze everywhere you look, it seems.

2. Obviously our Dear Leader's uncomfortable
with running on his record of the past 4 yrs...

1. ID cards - they'll "prevent terrorism" honest!
2. House Arrest (for everyone, without the need for the "evidence" to be put to court) - it'll "prevent terrorism" honest!
3. Iraq
4. Secret trials & secret evidence - it'll "prevent terrorism" honest!
5. Making criticism of religion illegal(!)
6. Dr. David Kelly's "suicide" (not enough pills for an overdose & not enough blood-loss for a wrist-slitting to work)
7. Alistair "Goebbels" Campbell (our very own Minister of Propaganda)
8. David "I don't care what Airy-Fairy Civil Libertarians think about my policies" Blunkett - my policies will "prevent terrorism" honest!
9. Charles "I can out-do Blunkett" Clarke - I'll "prevent terrorism" honest!
10. Freedom of Information (that benefits the govt/makes the Tories look bad) Act
11. Pandering to the Murdoch press
12. Immigration poicies which are similar to the BNP & out-do the Tories
13. Letting a person's previous criminal record to be put as evdience against them in a criminal trial (what happened to "Presumed innocent until proven guilty"?)

3. This doesn't make any sense.
But I do know that slander laws in Britain are some of the strongest. Any word from moveon.org as far as a rebuttal?

6. No 10 in new dirty tricks row over role of US 'garbage man'
Independent on Sunday
By Francis Elliott, Deputy Political Editor
27 February 2005

Labour has hired an American spin doctor known as the "garbage man" for publishing pictures doctored to show George Bush taking cocaine. The party faces controversy over "dirty tricks" after it said Zack Exley, 35, is working full-time on its campaign.

He is notorious in Washington as an expert in the use of the internet to spread black propaganda. President Bush was moved to call him a "garbage man". Other stunts included fake photographs of Mr Bush smoking a joint and spoof articles by him.

Mr Bush's team tried toclose down one website run by Mr Exley during the 2000 presidential campaign. Mr Bush's supporters cried foul again last year after he was brought into the Kerry campaign fresh from running another Bush-baiting website, MoveOn. He has also worked with Stan Greenberg, a business partner of Philip Gould, Tony Blair's personal pollster.

A Labour Party spokeswoman said: "Zack Exley is working for the party as a campaign consultant specifically using his experience of working on www.moveon.org."

It's how I found out about DU. And they have actually had even better ones then that on there! I remember them coming with captions such as "It's the hypocrisy stupid!" and "Born with a silver spoon up his nose".
