If China passes its ridiculous "anti-secession" law, one possible response from Taiwan worth considering is to boycott the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Just think of the media exposure this boycott will get. For the next three years, every time the Beijing Olympics are mentioned in the news, Taiwan will also be mentioned. The world will be constantly reminded that Taiwan is independent from China and has its own laws and Constitution.
It would be best if this action is based on a snap referendum to show it is the people's will, not just government policy. In the long term, it will be a negative legacy for the games that China still disregards human rights and freedom.
