BRITISH PUBLIC HAVE LOST FAITH IN TONY BLAIR
EXCLUSIVE
TONY Blair has lost the trust of the British people over war on Iraq, an exclusive Mirror poll reveals today.

Two thirds of voters believe the Premier fed them false information in the months-long run-up to conflict.

Their damning verdict follows the failure to find Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, suspect claims that the tyrant could deploy WMD in 45 minutes and allegations that intelligence dossiers were "sexed up" to exaggerate the Iraqi threat.

More than one in three voters - 35 per cent - say their confidence in Mr Blair has lessened because of the war. Even 11 per cent of Labour voters have lost faith, enough to wipe out the party's majority at a general election.

Yesterday Commons Leader Peter Hain admitted that lack of trust, particularly in Mr Blair, was now top of the agenda.

I did read a report before something like this but the Mirror did their own polling, it's exclusive, and they just posted it.

4. From the burning bush comes the commandment "Thou Shall not Lie"
Seems all so fitting. I wonder if there is a single Commandment that this Administration has not broken?

5. Not so fast, not so simple
Elements of classic tragedy here. A decent ambitious person brought low and the deaths of thousands. Blair it seems is only listening to himself these days. Timing is all here. Last thing UK needs is a Tory government. If you though Bush and Blair were cosy then consider Iain Duncan-Smith. Interesting how Freeper types just adore Tony. If they knew his dark and secret heart of big government, national health, social welfare, taxes etc.

6. Labour or Conservative?
That's the problem with our system. If anyone believes that being asked to pick one of two groups to rule over you dictator-fashion for a few years, before being given the exact same choice between the exact same two groups for a few more years, ad infinitum, is "Democracy", then I have a lovely harbour bridge to sell them. Great views.

7. Yes we have
The more this WMD pallaver goes on the more apparent it becomes that "new" labour has something to hide. The Labour party will only be able to draw a line under the unjust, illegal & immoral invasion of Iraq when they can learn to live without Tony Blair.

8. Actually, Lib Dems ...
Might end up being the winners. I saw an article here from -- I think -- the Guardian a while back that said that the Conservatives are holding steady, and that so far a lot of Labour's support seems to be sliding toward the Liberal Democrats, who seem to be somewhat to the left of Labour these days. I don't know when the next general election has to occur, but I'm wondering if Labour might find itself having to form a coalition, something that hasn't happened in quite some time, but which the public might accept as an alternative to putting the still unpopular Conservatives back in power.
