U.S. warns of possible bomb attack in Jakarta

JAKARTA, Indonesia - The U.S. Embassy on Friday warned American citizens of a possible bomb attack on a shopping mall in the Indonesian capital over the next three days.

The warning, posted on the embassy’s Web site, told U.S. citizens in Jakarta to avoid the World Trade Center Mangga Dua mall and streets surrounding it.

“The U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Consulate General are aware of a possible bomb threat against World Trade Center Mangga Dua in North Jakarta for the period 11-14 March,” the message said.

It gave no other details. Police and mall managers were not immediately available for comment.
