White House turns down Louisville mayor's request to greet Bush
god I'm so sick of this fuck in the WH.

Notice to the whores talking about all the "divisiveness" in politics. You know very well it comes from one smirking chimp.

http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050311/NEWS0104/503110451

Louisville Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson said the White House turned down his request to welcome President Bush when Air Force One landed at Louisville International Airport.

Instead, Abramson said, he was offered a ticket to the Kentucky Center where Bush spoke.

But Abramson, a Democrat, said he turned that down because he had a previously scheduled meeting. Bush was greeted, among others, by Kelly Downard, chairman of the Metro Council's GOP Caucus.

Abramson said he was disappointed he didn't have the opportunity to welcome Bush as he had done with Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

1. So much for being a uniter!
It's a pretty mean-spirited administration. Granted, there could be more to the story than we know, but still, I don't see much evidence that Bush is anything but a collector of toadies and henchmen.

2. Who is paying for Bush's travels?
If it is a partisan trip, shouldn't the Republican Party pay?

...Abramson was a prostitute posing as a journalist under an assumed name, he would have no problem in attending the meet and greet.

Democracy is not about exclusion. Democracy is inclusive! WTF does this WH think we all are? A bunch of morons? What is of real concern to me is their complete lack of concern or regard as to how their actions are perceived by the American People! They are clearly out of control and need to be stopped immediately. This is not THEIR country...it is OUR COUNTRY!!! Stand Up, America! Time to fight back...

Peace!

9. Bush dissed our Mayor Jerry?!?! FUCK BUSH!!

Abramson has done SOO much for this city. First in his tenure as mayor of Louisville and now he's back as mayor of the merged City of Louisville/Jefferson County.

Abramson is a former President of the Conference of Mayors.

Bush is reaching out to the other side? With what? A cattle prod??

FUCK BUSH!!

11. My jaw dropped at that. I can't believe it. As much as this fucker has
done and I still can't believe it. And the Dems in Congress are lying down for this shit? I mean, this looks like a declaration of war to me, it's so obvious. It's so blatant. And so totally unnecessary that it's got to mean something. If the Dems do not stiffen ALL their spines at this--if I hear one more fucking Dem talk about reaching across the aisle, or compromising, I will be so sickened, I swear. If the Dems do not respond to this, I swear I will register Green Party. What a loathsome monster Bush is.

13. Can we get a southern Dem in the HR or Sen to talk about this on air?
Mary Landreau, or some other Southerner? Do a news conference, CNN will air it. Just openly ask the President why he appears afraid to meet face to face with a Southern Mayor who has always met the President when they come to town...even Reagan and GH Bush!!

I'd love to see the WH response...er..tap dance.

18. Another article from the Courier slams Bush on lacking facts!
Some comments stick to facts, others don't
Support for claims not always evident
http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050311/NEWS0104/503110448

President Bush offered only a few facts yesterday about Social Security, his plan for it and the economy before holding a general conversation with five guests selected to speak at the appearance.

<...>

"A worker, making $35,000 over his or her lifetime, if allowed to set aside 4 percent of the payroll taxes into a personal account, over time by the time he or she retires will have earned $250,000 as part of the retirement system. Now that's her money. That's money that she will be using for retirement."

He didn't explain how he reached that calculation.

White House press spokesman Taylor Gross said he did not have that information but referred to the White House Web site section on Social Security. That site provides the same example but doesn't cite a source. Gross was unavailable for a further explanation.

28. Now THAT'S the way to cover this WH
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 05:45 PM by Rose Siding
I'm going to write that reporter, and send this article to Dan Froomkin. In his WP chat yesterday, this is just how he advised the WH be covered. He said the reporters should stress whether or not their questions had been answered as part of the coverage.

She notes when he contradicts himself, too:

snip>
In regards to overhauling Social Security, Bush suggested nothing has been ruled out when he said "all ideas are on the table" -- although he has previously ruled out increasing the Social Security tax rate

What a moran. Does he allow the many non-partisan city mayors to kiss his royal ring, or is he afraid he might catch Democratic cooties from them, too?
