1. No one cares. Not in this country.
The meaningless deaths of "darkie" women and children don't amount to a hill of beans in this country - hell, we don't even care about our own....

2. first time US has acknowledged missile strikes
and firing artillery into a city is one more war crime.
And yes, alist is being maintained.

Tall ‘Afar.

Baby Gharib born an orphan after Americans gun down family
on the way to the maternity hospital.

US forces killed members of an Iraqi family as they tried to get
to a hospital during the night in “violation” of the curfew
imposed on the city by the invaders.

And what the Resistance did about it:

In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Sunday afternoon,
the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Tall ‘Afar reported
that a short while before an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom
fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US check point in
the city. The correspondent wrote that the fighter dove an
Opel car into a check point that the Americans had set up
on Sunday following demonstrations that burst out across
the city after the American murder of members of the
‘Abd al-Wahid familiy (see story above).

Sources in the adh-Dhib Brigade of the Iraqi puppet army, set
up by the Americans, said that the martyrdom attacker
slammed his car into a US checkpoint in downtown Tall
‘Afar, killing 19 Americans and wounding a large number
of others. Four Humvees were destroyed in the attack, some
of them totally
demolished.

16. And Fallujah still has norunning water, sewage system, or electricity
and that's just the utilities."

casual news watchers may be surprised to learn that as
recently as January 7th U.S. Marines continued to
battle insurgents in the city, even employing airstrikes
against what the US Central Command (CENTCOM)
termed "militant targets".

Strangely, there is limited focus in the media about the
continued U.S. military actions in Fallujah. Visitors
to CENTCOM's website, found at www.centcom.mil, will not
find much more.

Resistance bombards US strong points east of al-
Fallujah Monday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded US military strong
points east of al-Fallujah on the roads leading to
Baghdad Monday morning. In a report posted at 11:47am
Mecca tiem Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported
a member of the Iraqi puppet forces as saying that three
heavy mortar rounds blasted into the US military command
post east of al-Fallujah a short while before, destroying
two Humvees and killing at least four American troops
and wounding more than six more.

17. America continues what she is most comfortable doing, talking to herself
What has happened in Fallujah is a powerful example of
the self-defeating insanity of the Bush Administration strategy
in its "War Against Terror" — a war which doesn't seem to
grasp the difference in terms of international legitimacy
between acts of resistance against foreign occupation and
acts of terrorism against
civilians.

15. Wow...like...how scandalous!
My local news (in Chattanooga, TN) even has a special reporter on hand for breaking developments in the MJ case...they didn't do any stories on the Tsunami for about a week after it happened, and the only reportage they do on the war is when one of our state's units come and go, or when one of our soldiers dies.

So, International disasters and American Military entanglements don't require the attention of the local news...but MICHAEL JACKSON??? That's, umm, not a distraction...it's CRUCIAL to our EVERYDAY LIVES!!!
