The Digital Voting Dillemma Continues
GNN, March 29, 2005
The Digital Voting Dillemma Continues

In mid-February, Black Box Voting, together with computer experts and videographers, under the supervision of appropriate officials, proved that a real Diebold system can be hacked.

This was not theoretical or a "potential" vulnerability. Votes were hacked on a real system in a real location using the actual setup used on Election Day, Nov. 2, 2004.

<SNIP>

This hack stunned the officials who were observing the test. It calls into question the results of as many as 40 million votes in 30 states. We are awaiting the response of the House Judiciary Committee to this new development for their investigation.

Gee ... 40 million votes in 30 states. I think that could make a difference huh. Ya don't need a tinfoil hat to come up w/ that conclusion do ya.

7. I know it was them. I was criticizing them, not you
Which is why I played off their headline. When I see a published piece I rather expect professionalism. If I see spelling errors I think less of the piece. I don't get snarky on people here for spelling errors.

10. It's especially sloppy in headlines
If somebody wants to be taken seriously in a published piece, and they're not sure how something is spelled and don't feel like looking it up, they can at least run spell check, and at least on the headlines. If they don't do that, then maybe they don't double-check their facts either; maybe their reasoning is sloppy too. I wasn't being snide about their innate spelling abilities. I was being snide about their laziness. I really don't see what you're taking issue with.

4. One more for Bev Harris & Friends...
How many times will it be proven that systems that are purely electronic can (and will!) be hacked?

How long before we get electronic voting that generates paper ballots?

How much longer until we strip the companies that make these horrendous pieces of garbage of the privacy they need to continue to operate their scam?

Why do "We the People" put up with secrecy in our vote counting systems? Of all the things that should be public, the vote counting software used by these SOBs should be at the top of the list!

I told him:

Comment #XXX: XXXXX XXXXXXXX said on 3/28/05 @ 11:32pm ET...

Dear Mr. Conyers,

President Bush could not have gotten more votes than there were voters in several precints and counties in Ohio. That would be impossible. It is my belief that the Central tabulators are where the vote switching took place. After all, how would anyone even know ?

Karl Rove had a room full of computers set up. He had to know how many votes they needed to switch to illegally win. If you noticed the Blue states were not called until very late because they had to switch the totals.

I commend you sir for taking this task to heart and helping to save our Democracy from the Military Industrial Complex war criminals we now have occupying the White House. Thank you sir.

9. I sent him an email, too.
They totally did this. God damn them to hell. What kind of mind would permit such a subversion of democracy? George Bush (as the Son of God) valued over the democractic process -- it is clear they want death and chaos to reign over us.

:grr:

11. Death and Chaos
People wouldn't be able to buy many Big Macs if Death and Chaos reined supreme here in the U.S.

The best litmus test for what "they" want is to think about what the top .25% of Americans would benefit from.

To them ... there's no such thing as too rich. We're probably not too far away from the country's first trillionaire.

With money comes power ... forget the responsibility crap.

13. 110K "extra" votes x 31 states "won" = 3.41 million vote "mandate"
Edited on Tue Mar-29-05 03:47 PM by SoCalDem
This is why all we heard about after the "election" was the "mandate".."mandate"..."mandate"..

There is NO doubt in my mind that the election was "cooked" from the beginning, and the "extra" votes were the icing on the cake to "prove" legitimacy this time around.. I am NOT buying it.. Of course with vapor-voting, there's no way to dis-prove it..That's why HAVA is a big horrific joke..ON US !!

15. Bush Won't Get The Boot ...
In fact he's going to run for a third term after the 22nd Amendment is repealed.
