(CAF) Leaders to Launch New TV Ad in Rep. Tom DeLay's District
WASHINGTON -- March 29 -- News Advisory:

* Leaders to Launch New TV Ad In Rep. Tom DeLay's District
* Campaign for America's Future Fights the Most Corrupt Congress Ever
* Ad Asks Congress to 'Wash Its Hands' of Tom DeLay's Corruption

The Campaign for America's Future will unveil a new television ad that urges Congress to "wash its hands" of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Tex., on a conference call with reporters on Wednesday. In remarks delivered last week to a conservative group, Rep. DeLay used the personal tragedy of Terri Schiavo to divert attention away from corruption charges against him.

The Campaign for America's Future, one of the principal groups fighting the president's plan to privatize Social Security, is also fighting the abuse of power of the most corrupt Congress in recent history. The group used advertising last month to highlight how Rep. James McCrery's, R-La., campaign contributions from the financial services industry cloud his judgment as chairman of the House subcommittee on Social Security.

I was out at lunchtime, and had Flush Limpballs on my radio. He was using this commercial as an example of how "liberals are using the Terri Schiavo case for political gain."

What an asshole. Hey, Rush - why aren't you in jail on drug charges yet?

8. My worry is that they are tossing Delay out as an appeasement.
GOP are going to let Delay go down, to appease the moderates. Too bad it won't extend to all those that voted for this fiasco. Like Sen. I diagnose via video" Frist and the others that jumped on the Save Terri circus wagon, and trampled all over the constitution they gave an oath to uphold.

10. A pretty good appeasement. Delay is the one keeping all the GOPers
in line and comes down hard on any who stray. It would be hard to get a replacement who is as effective in his bullying tactics.

the bad aroma stuck to the entire party doing a lot of damage. If Delay goes down, the Jaggernaut of the GOP party will be weakened.

16. Richard Morrison, who ran against DeLay and made a good.....
showing, sent this today:

Let's Send Mr. Morrison to Washington!

Richard is flying out to DC next week to visit with the Democratic Congressional Caucus so we're holding a fundraising drive with the goal of sending Richard back to Washington in 2006 as a Congressman!

We're hoping to find 100 sponsors for the trip in ten days. We're off to a great start and need to your help to make our goal. Please click the link below and contribute to the campaign. Your $10, $20, $50 or $100 will make a difference.

http://morrisonfor22.com/contribute/contribute.php

We're very excited about this trip because the word has finally reached Washington, D.C. that DeLay is vunerable right here in his home district. MYDD.com has identified DeLay as one of the 15 weakest incumbent GOP congressmen.

So this trip is our chance to show the inside players that Richard is ready for the big leagues and is the candidate that national Democrats should back all the way.

Please help send Richard to Washington. Your contribution will make a difference.

thank you so much

Ads Will Seek to Turn DeLay's Powerful Network Into His Downfall

WASHINGTON, March 29 - (snip)

Two left-leaning groups intend to do just that in tough advertising campaigns that attack the majority leader and highlight the scandals involving former DeLay aides and advisers.

The Campaign for America's Future, which is calling for Mr. DeLay's resignation, is spending about $75,000 to run commercials in the majority leader's home district in Texas. The advertisement opens with a man wearing cuff links and a Rolex watch walking down the stairs into a basement, where he begins washing his hands. An announcer ticks off cases surrounding Mr. DeLay as the figure tries harder and harder to get clean.

"Tom DeLay can't wash his hands of corruption by involving Congress in one family's personal tragedy," an announcer says, referring to Mr. DeLay's involvement in the Terri Schiavo case. "But Congress can certainly wash its hands of Tom DeLay."

22. WP: Liberals To Target DeLay In Ads
Liberals To Target DeLay In Ads

By Mike Allen
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, March 30, 2005; Page A04

Democratic officials and a well-funded liberal advocacy group said yesterday that they will try to capitalize on the new visibility of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Tex.) by casting him as a symbol of Republican excess, as critics once did with former House speaker New Gingrich.

Democratic officials in the House and Senate said that news coverage of DeLay's travel and ties to lobbyists, and his high profile in the congressional intervention in the Terri Schiavo case, has given them an opening to use him as more of a foil. They said that until now, he was so little known to the general public -- despite his enormous power at the Capitol -- that attacks on him were not effective.

The Campaign for America's Future, backed by labor and other liberal leaders, plans to announce today that DeLay will be featured in television ads in at least four Republican House districts. The group said it is buying a 30-second ad in DeLay's suburban Houston district that shows a man wearing cufflinks and a Rolex watch and washing his hands.

"Tom DeLay: He'd like to wash his hands of corruption," the announcer says before recounting charges against the majority leader. "Tom DeLay can't wash his hands of corruption," the ad concludes. "But Congress can certainly wash its hands of Tom DeLay."

24. It is on there followed by a forum on the chance of the draft returning.
http://inside.c-spanarchives.org:8080/cspan/fullschedule.csp?timeid=211978940886

Do you mean there was something specifically about the Delay adds, then followed by the filibuster forum, followed by the draft forum?

Or was it always the filibuster forum first?
