Striking Que. students mark anniversary (Quebec)
QUEBEC (CP) - A few dozen students kicked off a day of protest in Quebec on Wednesday, marking the first anniversary of budget cuts that have led to a massive student strike in the province.

Larger demonstrations were expected in Montreal later in the evening. Student groups say about 185,000 university and college students are on strike. They are demanding Premier Jean Charest's government restore $103 million in bursaries that were turned into student loans in the provincial budget one year ago. The students are in their fifth week of skipping school.

The government and student representatives are expected to hold talks this week. <snip>
