White House to project record deficits
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N14214807.htm

WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - The White House is expected on Tuesday to project record-breaking budget deficits this year and next in excess of $400 billion, an amount Democrats and some fiscal conservatives said approached crisis proportions.

White House officials said the bigger deficits were "manageable" in size and reflected the nation's economic and national security needs following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"Well, I want to remind you: What was the cost of September 11th? What is cost of a country that is attacked? What is the price that the American people would have to pay if something like that were to ever happen again?" White House spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters.

Democrats blamed President George W. Bush's sweeping tax cuts and said budget deficits were approaching crisis levels not seen since the Reagan administration.

"As bad as the budget is going to appear, it's actually worse," said South Carolina Rep. John Spratt, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives Budget Committee.

The why give the damn tax cut if things were going to look so bad Ari?!!?

4. I disagree.
* is the worst "president" we have ever had in the history of this country ... not merely in the past 70 years. Coolidge, Harding, Hoover ... shit, even McKinley (who I think was second worse, but who was at least moderately intelligent)couldn't hold a candle to this criminal neocon revival meeting in a bottle.

5. worst ever - with worst ever Congress and USSC
the entire structure of this administration and its lapdog congress, its subservient court system and the whore media has brought this nation to its knees -

it will take a massive amount of strength and fortitude to get the country away from insolvency and despotism.

8. * makes Grant's administration look squeaky clean by comparison!
Poll after poll during the nineties showed, the American people are willing to pay higher taxes if they know it's paying off the national debt and keeping us from running budget deficits.

Clinton made good on that and these bastards ruined eight years of outstanding economic policy in 2.5 years!

they havn't told us that yet. Sorry we do not have your money. Condolezza will say it is not theft but a simple mistake after all who would have thought we were spending your money.
