304 US soldiers ordered killed by Pentagon in Iraq
TEHRAN (MNA) – About 304 recalcitrant U.S. soldiers have been killed by the Pentagon’s special team, intelligence sources in Iraq have revealed.

The sources quoted high-ranking U.S. officers as saying that since the U.S. occupation of Iraq in March 2003 more than 304 U.S. military forces have been executed in spurious clashes at the behest of army commanders and with the knowledge of the Pentagon.

The bodies of these soldiers have been sent to their families and announced as forces who have been killed in the fight against terrorists, the Mehr News Agency correspondent in southern Iran has learnt.

The soldiers ordered killed were mainly among those who suffered mental disorders and protested against the massacre of Iraqi civilians and asked “Who were they fighting for”.

4. How much juice does the Tehran Times have?
I know they got the torture story right but I have seen a lot of outlandish shit from them too. Such as the story about the military shipping in WMDs to plant before the election. I'm a little skeptical.

12. Well I was trying to be kind.
And they did get the prison torture story right, I guess that's the broken clock in action. I'd consider them to be on par with the Weekly World News.

24. umm, i thought i read that military shipping in weapons story but not from
that source. It said that it was foiled because we arrived in Baghdad so quick that the military more or less foiled the plans of the "planting group"

now, i know you want me to give you a source but I have no idea. Who knows maybe it did come from this source and I didn't catch it.

8. Karen Hughes is working for Iran now too?
This report is as silly as His Chimperial Highnesses' claims of WMD in Iraq as an imminent threat to US security.

The FACTS are bad enough. Why people feel the need to make idiotic shit up is beyond me....

And who might this be directed to? Iranians? Hardly. Written in English, for gullible Americans, to make the cause of caution of widening the war look foolish.

19. if its propaganda, what's the purpose?
to make people in Iran not like the U.S. for killing off their own soldiers?

I don't see the propoganda value?

I'm not saying this is a true story in any way, I just don't get why someone would make this up out of thin air.

22. Why did the old Soviet Union constantly
publish bogus negative stories about the US in its newspapers under the heading "Their Morals" (in the 70s-80s AFAIR)? It really didn't make sense, since everybody who read them knew they were clumsy lies, and the stories were a running joke to almost every Russian. But they were still published.

Propaganda doesn't have to make sense or be effective. Sometimes it just exists for propaganda's sake. Maybe the Iranian writers did not meet the quota of negative stories about US this week and had to do one quick.

23. obviously it doesn't make any sense
but I'm curious as to what the intention was. Its not like the paper said that the U.S. killed 304 Iranian civilians or Iranian military. I don't get what the purpose of this story was supposed to serve. Who was it supposed to anger or inluence - which, is the purpose of propoganda, isn't it?

30. it's not without reason
a steadily increasing pro-west movement in Iran will most certainly be fed "oh my god, look how horrible they treat their own people. aren't you glad you're not one of them" type stories in their media.

propaganda isn't a tool that is only used to stir up hate or hide internal flaws, it is also used to make those in power look better when compared to others in power.

26. actually, I don't doubt that it has happened. but i doubt that there
be a list. If any of us believe they would kill journalist, we should believe that they would kill soldiers who protesteth too much and knew too much too. However, like I said, I doubt there is any accurate recording of who or how many people could have been killed in this way.

so this story IMO is false with some trace of truth.

32. While I believe that this story is not true, I also don't doubt that
the regime that is now in control of this country is capable of doing such deeds.
They follow the Machiavellian methodology of the ends justify the means.
Don't put any thing past them including allowing terrorist to slam airplanes into buildings to incite fear in a nation.
