Social Security Investments “Bad Idea” In US (Hart/McInturff/WSJ/NBC)
(Angus Reid Global Scan) – Many Americans are against a proposal to change the Social Security system in the United States, according to a poll by Hart/McInturff released by the Wall Street Journal and NBC News. 55 per cent of respondents believe allowing workers to invest contributions in the stock market is a bad idea, a four per cent increase since February. <snip>

1. Look for the "bad idea" numbers to grow as the bear market deepens
this year. The economy is skating on the edge of an abyss.

4. Looks like the error is in "not sure"
which should probably be 9% for last Feb. See www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7407269/

Fifty-five percent believe that it?s a bad idea to allow workers to invest their Social Security contributions in the stock market, while 35 percent think it?s a good idea. That?s a drop from the February survey, which found that 51 percent opposed Bush?s plan versus 40 percent who supported it.

6. It's always 65-35 or somewhere near those numbers.. remember the Clinton

impeachment.. Basically 65% of the people are intelligent enough to "do their homework" and at least question these things.. The unfortunate part is that not all 65% vote..and some of them are swayed on a few "pet issues", and vote contrary to their overall well being.. That pesky 30-35% is KILLING us all :(
