Crude Futures Fall, Bush Blames China for Surge in Oil Prices
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBGXGF7K7E.html

SINGAPORE (AP) - Crude futures fell Friday, moving back below the $51 mark, ahead of a meeting where the Group of Seven industrial nations were to discuss the economic impact of soaring energy prices.
Japan warned that high prices could derail its economic recovery, and President Bush blamed China for the surge in crude and gasoline prices in America.

Light, sweet crude for May delivery fell 53 cents to $50.60 per barrel by midmorning in Europe in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It had briefly dropped below $50 on Thursday but finished the day higher.

Heating oil fell more than a cent to $1.4717 per gallon, while unleaded gas dipped less than half a cent to $1.5010 a gallon.

2. China, my *ss
Mr. B*sh: Oil prices are up because Iraqi insurgents are blasting oil pipelines and halting the flow of Iraq's oil to America's oil corporations. All that "cheap" Iraqi oil we sent our troops to fight for has become extremely costly, even if you don't count the nearly 1600 American troops' lives and tens of tousands of casualties.

Sometimes you gotta know when to fold 'em

5. Not to mention a reported 100,000+ dead Iraqis, countless more maimed,
made homeless, jobless, hungry, and wholesale destruction of artifacts and the infrastructure.

7. Bush: "How dare China develop!"
China is doing the right thing, and progressives should be genuinely happy that every years another million Chinese people are lifted out of poverty thanks to its development. Bush is playing an evil, racist anti-China card here that unfortunately has a wide audience on the left as well. China is not a threat to the US.
