Iraq rebels ‘unite’ to fight coalition
THE terrorist group led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, America’s most wanted man in Iraq, has joined forces with other Iraqi insurgents to carry out “spectacular” attacks, a rebel commander claimed last week.

The commander said Zarqawi’s group, known as Al-Qaeda in Iraq, had agreed to work with insurgents ranging from Islamic radicals to supporters of Saddam Hussein in a loose affiliation called Iraq’s mujaheddin.

“Targets have been selected and plans are in place for coming attacks which will introduce new strategies and updated tactics,” said the commander.

1. Why announce such a thing? If it was real, would they not just attack?
Smells fishy to me. Why waste a surprise?

5. Normally I'd agree with you but their tactics have changed drastically
in the last couple of weeks....

If its true its bad news because the one thing that was keeping us safe was that it was beleived that they already were united and the Iraqis were weathering it, the fact that they weren't and did as much damage as they have is the real news here. The Shiite are going to have a lot more assassinations/kidnappings and the Kurds are going to get moves that bring Turkey into the debacle.

What the bushbots don't realize is that chaos is not only good for their plundering it also good for desperate people to meet up and further eachothers agendas.

all just IMHO..

2. He's a uniter, not a divider
*'s united all the Iraqi tribes against our soldiers, and he's united India, China, and Russia against us.

4. It's apparent the neocons never cracked a history book.
Maybe if they had read about Ancient Greece, or dozens of other examples, they would know that even a deeply divided people will band together to defeat a foreign invader.

After Iraq has convinced us to unass the AO (leave), they will sort out their own destiny, hopefully with less bloodshed than when the United States did the same thing.

Goddam Bush for getting us into this quagmire

6. Remember when AbuGhraib was attacked?...
and attacked again the next day? And, AlJazeera had an article and a film clip from alQueda stating the very same things. There has been a whole lot going on over there me thinks, that isn't getting out. Individual news blips with a soldier dead here and there, are very dis-connected, and hard to match up with all the various attacks.
