Pepper spray trial to continue tomorrow in San Francisco

The third pepper spray trial, Lundberg v. County of Humboldt, began in federal court in San Francisco this past week.

The case has evolved from three incidents that occurred in 1997 in the lobby at The Pacific Lumber Co.’s offices in Scotia, on PALCO property at Bear Creek and in the office of then-Rep. Frank Riggs in Eureka.

Protesters locked themselves together with metal pipes also known as black bears to protest the Headwaters Agreement and the cutting of old-growth redwoods.

During the incidents Q-tips dipped in pepper spray were applied by law-enforcement officers to the area of their eyes. Where the protesters were specifically swabbed remains embroiled in controversy, with some saying the Q-tips actually touched their eyes and the defendants saying they swabbed the protesters around their eyes. <snip>

The cops actually forced the girl's eyes open and applied the pepper spray.

where those fucking cops put that shit in those kids eyes and I flipped out! I couldn't believe it. They need to be put in the joint for that, that would make believers out of them.
