Reports reveal Zarqawi nuclear threat
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 05:59 PM by Roland99
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050419-102106-5456r.htm

Recurrent intelligence reports say al Qaeda terrorist Abu Musab Zarqawi has obtained a nuclear device or is preparing a radiological explosive -- or dirty bomb -- for an attack, according to U.S. officials, who also say analysts are unable to gauge the reliability of the information's sources.

The classified reports have been distributed to U.S. intelligence agencies for several consecutive months and say Zarqawi, al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, has stored the nuclear device or dirty bomb in Afghanistan, said officials familiar with the intelligence.

One official said the intelligence is being questioned because analysts think al Qaeda would not hesitate to use a nuclear device if it had one.

However, the fact that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has reported the nuclear threat in several classified reports distributed since December indicates concern about it.

We can't get results of investigations and other reports re: Abu Ghraib but yet highly classified documents talking of Zarqawi having in his possession a nuclear device are plastered over news websites???

:wtf:

"Wolf! Wolf!" cried the Propagandist.

Either that or John Kerry was DEAD-ON in that suitcase nukes from the old Soviet Union were unaccounted for still. Either the Propagandist is trying to take our attention away from accelerating deficits, increasing inflation, dropping stock markets, soaring gas prices, etc. or Kerry was right.

Either way, it's a major f-up for this administration.

1. The day they announce DeLay is getting investigated. Hmm...
Edited on Wed Apr-20-05 06:00 PM by merwin
Oh yeah, and then there's that nasty Bolton thing that happened yesterday. Why not just divert the news with Zarqawi blowing up the world.

Also note the source... THE WASHINGTON TIMES. Not to be confused with the real newspaper, the Washington Post.

2. Oh, this sounds "credible" alright
too bad they haven't linked Zarqawi to Iran yet. The minute they start "making" the connection, it's off to Tehran in the Bradleys.

4. They'll never catch that crafty al Zarqawi
He's too fast, too stealthy, too nonexistent.

Why, they completely levelled a large city with the stated intention of finding him, but he slipped away.

And now he's sending messages via secret decoder ring about his new Dr. Evil nuclear bomb plot.

Is that about right? Just want to make sure I'm keeping up with all the fictitious bad guys on the loose.

That's what happens when you're exposed to dirty bombs! And that's not all... now we have a SPIDER-ZARQAWI!

BTW, nuclear is so 20th century. 21st century terrorists use Kryptonite!

I stopped reading Zarqawi after that. The plot seemed too contrived.

30. The legs of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
Ladies and gentlemen,
we have made an error in assuming that this terrorist,
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
originally owned only two legs
when
he probably owned three or more.

What's that?
You DARE SCOFF AT THE TRUTH!!!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=125&topic_id=11866&mesg_id=11906

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and al qaeda
are considered to be even more lethal than
Paul Schaeffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band.

In a strange twist, the Times report was addressed in a Thursday press conference by Governor Tom Ridge, director of the Office of Homeland Security. Ridge referred to the discovery of "materials relative to a nuclear threat" and said they were "certainly consistent with statements that he would like to acquire that capacity."
"It is not to say, it does not confirm that he has the capacity," Ridge told the reporters. "It just says that whether it's bin Laden or some other potential foe of this country, we have to be prepared for all eventualities, including a nuclear threat." But CyberGeek thinks U.S. security officials may know more than they're letting on.

Moon's WT (intro by Tony Blankley...BTW, who does his fashion co-ordination for his McLaughlin group appearances?) plus opinions in Weekly Standard...puke!

The BBC documentary Power of Nightmares featured an interview with a scientist who said that in order for a "dirty bomb" to be dangerous, you literally have to stay in the vicinity of it for a year...

Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 08:59 AM by Roland99
One official said the intelligence is being questioned because analysts think al Qaeda would not hesitate to use a nuclear device if it had one.

The CIA then "speculated" in a report that the terrorist group "probably had access to nuclear expertise and facilities and that there was a real possibility of the group developing a crude nuclear device," the commission report said.

The commission also said U.S. intelligence agencies think development of a radiological bomb is "well within al Qaeda's capabilities."

CIA Director Porter J. Goss said "such a terrorist strike "may be only a matter of time."

with all of that uncertainty and doubt, I'm a shakin' in my shoes!

report to the U.N. We all know the truth about that now, if it wasn't clear at the time.

26. Just like the Bowery Boys...
This is a bit dated but all this BS from moron* reminds me of an old Bowery boys movie.

They were always getting into fights, kinda a trade mark for their B pictures.
Anyway, at some point, just before a fight would start, the leader (his name escapes me) would yell out a number, routine 42!" and all the other members would section off like a basketball team in preplaned drill and then they would take on there foes.

Moron* more than likely has a similar play book via rove for the inconvenience of an investigation or bad information or SS or Medicaid or what have you to divert the publics attention. In the oval office, rove probably yells out, "routine 42!" and then they all fall into place and puke out another diversion. This time it's the dreaded nuclear bomb option. Just like someone posted on here, if the terrorists were hell bent on getting a nuke, they would use it at first opportunity, not wait for the "right" time like some TV melodrama. They would march into Baghdad or where ever and set it off. Period. Now that would be some shock and awe.

Anyway, personally, I don't think this is a typical "routine 42" for the admin, this I think is more of other type of tactic the the Bowery boys would use. When confronted with an enemy, one guy would raise his left hand and wave it in the air to distract his opponent long enough to have him shift his gaze, so they can sock them with his right hand. Also known as a faint.

I think this is the best they have to offer now. After all the various terror alerts and other cries of wolf! They are running low on idea's and like dr. frist has said, they have to resort to the nuclear option.

27. Sure gets around for a DEAD GUY!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4446084/

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A Jordanian extremist suspected of bloody suicide attacks in Iraq was killed some time ago in U.S. bombing and a letter outlining plans for fomenting sectarian war is a forgery, a statement allegedly from an insurgent group west of the capital said.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in the Sulaimaniyah mountains of northern Iraq “during the American bombing there,” according to a statement circulated in Fallujah this week and signed by the “Leadership of the Allahu Akbar Mujahedeen.”

There was no way to verify the authenticity of the statement, one of many leaflets put out by a variety of groups taking part in the anti-U.S. resistance.

The statement did not say when al-Zarqawi was supposedly killed, but U.S. jets bombed strongholds of the extremist Ansar al-Islam in the north last April as Saddam Hussein’s regime was collapsing.

32. The DoD radioactive nuclear waste storage tanks are corroded
Edited on Thu Apr-21-05 10:46 AM by DulceDecorum
and I guess they need to blame that on someone.
There are scores of DoD storage yards
and even THEY have no idea what to do with this stuff.

The Bush Administration recently came up with the bright idea of harassing truckers
http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke%5C20947.html
in anticipation of transporting this radioactive waste on the nation's highways and railways.
Yucca mountain is a disaster waiting to happen,
and so the Republicans have chosen to hide the whole mess
behind the missing leg of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
