Former Centerville school officer has 10 days to appeal

WARNER ROBINS - A former school resource officer who discharged a Taser stun gun to get the attention of a sleeping student may be placed on a three-day suspension, according to city of Centerville documents.

Centerville police Maj. Ron Coley has recommended the suspension without pay for Jason Spielman after the April 6 incident involving a 13-year-old seventh-grader at Thomson Middle School. <snip>

Mayor Ronnie Brand said, "I feel like it (the proposed disciplinary action) was appropriate. I feel like it was a very bad decision on his (Spielman's) part."

Brand said it has not been proven whether the student was actually shocked with the stun gun, although Brand noted that the student and an adult who was in the room at the time said that he was shocked.

Had the kid had the taser and shocked the adult -- my guess -- the SWAT team would have been called in .

7. It was just a matter of time, wasn't it? On my way to work, I pass a huge

billboard TOUTING the attributes of this WEAPON!!!I pass it almost every day, and it still shocks me every time I go by. What ever happened to common sense in this country??
